Hello,
I have just bought an Hitachi dvp305 and I have basicly run out of scart sockets. I have a phillips black line tv which has 2 Scart sockets. A sky digi box (Pace) and a Hitachi FX880E video also with two scart sockets. Can any one advise me on how to connect it all up without buying a scart splitter. Thanks. |

I recently got a scart splitter from Electronics Boutique, they sell them for people with PS2s, it's really good, I plug it into my digibox and plug the other stuff into the splitter. it works well

Sky digibox goes in a daisy chain to Hitachi VCR which goes to TV scart 2. DVD on its own goes to TV scart 1.

Connect the video scart socket 1 to the 'video' scart socket on your Skydigibox. Connect the 'TV' scart socket on the digibox to your TV (either Scart1 or 2 on your TV but you might need to use number 2 socket on your TV) Connect the DVD to the other scart socket on your TV and hey presto.
Some TVs only allow RGB connections on scart socket one. and maybe SVideo on scart socket 2. So if your Digibox is outputting in RGB check the TV book for more info. Likewise if your DVD is outputting in SVideo quality you might need to use Scart socket 2 on your TV. It may not matter which way you do it though. |
