samsung yp z5 - power up
country cousin
20-09-2006
My husband has just bought me one of these for my birthday. I am a total idiot when it comes to things like this - he is currently setting it up for me so that hopefully I can just press some buttons and play some music.

However I see we need to power it up via our laptop. I personaly am not looking forward to that, so is there any way round that, especially if we are away from home and computer. Is there any type of cable that I can buy that will just link the machine to a power supply to recharge the battery without the need for a computer and if so what exactly do I need to buy (explain this very carefully please!).

Sorry but I am totally hopeless with all things computer based and hopefully will remain that way .......
Thank you for any help you can offer.

I'm thinking of buying a YP-75 so would also be interested in the answer to this. as far as I understand you can just buy an independant charger for it?

anyone else any exerience of the YP-75, particularly vs Ipod? any advice for a first -time mp3 buyer/user?

Country Cousin,

I've found websites which sell a compatible mains charger for the yp z5. I am planning to get one as soon as my yp z5 gets delivered. I just typed in 'mp3 usb mains charger' and I had a large list come up. This was one of them:

I am looking to get a Z5 myself after seeing one in a gadget magazine

Can any of you who have one maybe post some photos of it (the ones on the web are all the same photo) in action also what do you think of the controls and sound

Also does the Z5 display album art like the ipod

Please disregard my last post

I meant the Samsung K5 (with built in speaker) not the Z5

Paulj, I have seen that new Samsung k5 player in action (my friend has it), and what a sexy thing it is! Bear in mind though, that the battery life is shorter when you play it through its loudspeaker rather than through the headphones.

I took a while to decide between getting that and getting the z5. I got the z5 in the end because it's much smaller and lighter and I'm just gonna get little speakers for it if I want to listen to it aloud. My friend says that she hardly uses her k5 on loudspeaker, so this is what swung it for me.
