New Series
TH14
21-09-2006
Matt Evers and Co. will return to the UK in November to start preparing for DOI2. I don't know whether that means the new series will start in November or whether they'll start training the celebs in November

They will start training the celebs in november. Wikipedia is saying the start date is September 13th but whether it will be or not. we shall see any way.

Yeah I reckon it it January 13th, because although Wikipedia can be edited by anyone as priggy has suggested, it would seem relevant as this first series began on 14th January this year. They also started training the celebs in November last year for the first series didn't they? Seems the timescale is pretty much the same

What the actual show will bring is something that will only be truly revealed on the night!

Can't wait. T&D back again. Fantastic.

There is apparently going to be a DOI Tour next year. Also apparently Duncan James (Blue), Ulrika Johnson, Koo Stark(Prince Andrew's ex), Stephen Gately(Boyzone) and Neil 'Foxy' Fox(DJ, Pop Idol Judge) have signed to do the next series.

There was an article in my local paper about Daniel Whiston last night saying he's got to finish his last ever stint the Hot Ice show at Blackpool in early November and then start training for DOI. Said he wouldn't know who his new partner is till he turns up for training.

What do Liberty X’s Kelli Young, yachtswoman Tracy Edwards, former England footballer Lee Sharp, Duncan James and Radio1 DJ Scott Mills have in common? They are some of the celebrities apparently lined up to appear in the second series of Dancing on Ice.

Dancing on Ice is set to return to our screens in January after its phenomenal success earlier this year which saw Gaynor Faye and Daniel Whiston crowned Dancing on Ice champions. Over 15 million tuned in to see the grand finale where Torvill and Dean performed an adaptation of their Bolero routine, which earned them Olympic gold medals in 1984.

Jayne and Chris recently returned home following their successful Australian version and will reunite soon in order to start getting the series 2 celebrities used to the ice and confident with their blades.

The Sunday Mirror (17th September), suggested that celebrities lined up to appear in series 2 included Koo Sark, photographer and former model, known also as being Prince Andrew’s ex, Liberty X’s Kelli Young, yachtswoman Tracy Edwards, former England footballer Lee Sharp, and Radio1 DJ Scott Mills. Others apparently include former Duncan James from former boy band Blue, TV presenter Donna Air, actress Lysette Anthony, ex Eastender Michelle Gayle, and ITV weather girl Becky Mantin are also being lined up for the 11-week series. Other sources confirmed that sports presenter Gabby Logan and former Boyzone Stephen Gateley are also in the line up.

The paper also quotes an insider as saying
“The stars of the last series set a very high benchmark - so the new celebs have a lot to live up to. They have been warned to expect pain, punishment and tears."

Will there be celebrity spotting down at the local ice rinks anytime soon?

Neil Fox said on the radio this morning that he was seeing Duncan James from Blue quite a lot lately - and that all would become apparent in January ...

i think that is quite a big clue. i thought Duncan was on hols in South Africa or maybe he just said that to not give the game away. Robin Cousins was on loose women yesterday and he said he would back on the judging panel and he was going to do a backflip for his 50th next year.
John Barrowman is going to be on the show sometime this week as well.

Marvellous! I loved the first series of DOI, John Barrowman melted my heart
I do wish they'd get some proper 'celebrities' on the show though, I'd pay good money to see Fern Britton on ice skates - Philip could bring her along!

Hope they replace the presenter Philip Schofield. He ruined the last series with his constant shouting...
