For every risk taker who suceeds, there are more that fail. I think from memory about 75% of small business startups fail in the first 2 years. They are all risk takers. For big sucesses, there are also big failures. Time Warner's ill fated ten's of billion dollars down the toilet merger with AOL, the risk takers that destroyed General Electric Company (GEC) in the UK, to create the pension and investor value destroying Marconi etc... On the plus side, who wold have though in 12 months flat, 2 people would fleece Google for $1.6bn, with a low brow web site showing rather ropey home videos. Bizzare. Alan sugar, Donald Trump and the Dragon's would have laughed them out of the building !!! |

I really enjoyed this weeks two episodes. I thought the "desk thing" that Bren and Alex created was awful. Erm... it's just like having a second desk that you have to attach to your original desk!!! For me the two stand-out candidates are Tana and especially Kendra (who for much of the series had a pretty low profile, yet she always seems to deliver). Was very impressed with her brouchere for the car. Craig seems to be a waste of space.

I am so annoyed! The TV Guide only said that it was on for one episode last night! I set the tape as usual and was so looking forward to watching it and the next episode tonight - as has been the case since it started!
Only to discover that the BBC suddenly made it a "double bill", and it is not on tonight! So I missed the second episode! What are they playing at?! |

In the US do they have a programme like they do on BBC Three the "Your Fired" programme?

That 'desk thing' was an absolute howler! If anything, it would put me off work if it meant I had to physically lift a piece of glass to get at my inbox.
Incredible that Alex was so deluded...maybe he should take his product to DD and see what Peter Jones would say... |

Really enjoyed last night's episodes although I was sorry to see Bren go - he just seemed to give up and the non-risktaker quote finished him off. Does anyone else think that Alex is well overrated? Tana and Kendra prove every week that market research is the key to winning but nobody else seems to comprehend this. As far as I can see at the moment Tana and Kendra are the top two with Kendra winning on creativity although she needs to impose her authority more.
The oddest contestant left is Craig in that he can't seem to communicate at all, it always makes me laugh when he starts one of his rambling (often irrelevant) speeches though, you can see the bemusement in everyone else's faces.

My money's probably on Kendra. Trump must know about Alex and Tana going to sleep on the car task.

Missed the 2nd of this weeks episodes
Help ........... I didn't realise this weeks was a double edition showing and as usual I recorded Wednesday nights episode and settled down to watch last night only to find it was a double showing and they've cancelled the usual thursday showing ......... gutted
I haven't read this thread because I don't want to know whats happened if I can help it and I was wondering if anyone knows if its repeated sometime before next week on any of the other BBC channels? I've been searching on bbc.co.uk but can't find a hint of it in the listings unless I missed it somewhere.

I didn't hear anything advertised by the BBC about the change in broadcasting, but then they put the USA version on late anyway unlike their own version with Mr Sugar so I guess they're not that bothered about it. |

Kendra's brochure was excellent and a credit to her - it was exactly right. Tana was out of order for trying to take precedence during presentation. Craig to go next I think. I haven't seen any flair from him at all - he's been flying under the radar for weeks IMO. I do love the editing on this though. They obviously get a shot of one of the team members looking pissed off or disinterested and just splice it in willy nilly to show their "reaction" to something someone else has said. Gruesome sycophancy with Trump too. He could come dressed in a clown suit and they'd be gushing all over him. |

I wrote to BBC 3 on the 21st September, asking if the were any plans to repeat the series. I got cheeky letter back for them on the 4th October: At this moment in time there are no current plans for The Apprentice USA to be repeated on BBC Three - however, you might like to visit the BBC's What's On website every now and again and do a search for "The Apprentice USA" - then if it does happen to be repeated on any of the BBC's channels, you won't miss out! www.bbc.co.uk/whatson I've put them on my list.

If you search for the Apprentice USA on the BBC's homepage, all you get is a BIG FAT nothing not even the TV schedule! And a search of just 'Apprentice' brings up the website for the UK version.
Am I right in thinking Auntie Beeb repeated the UK show on BBC3 during last years broadcasting of the show? Why they can't repeat the USA show I don't know, they've got 4 channels It's looking like a t'internet download if its available

I love the bit before Trump announces the task, when he has a little staged chat with the executives of the company being promoted that week. It's so cheesy, it's just hilarious!
