Dropped handset

I'm very very annoyed - I dropped my Motorolla v500 this morning onto floorboards
, and it doesn't work! I've turned it on - all the lights come on, but no screen. I've taken the battery out and put it back in, and turned it on whilst on charge (even though I just fully charged it) - no luck - is it buggred for good? Any way of fixing it?

Just when I really need it too. Although I've been thinking of getting a new phone on contract, I could do without this! Especially as I have important photos stored on it - is there any way of saving them? Bluetooth transfer never worked with it anyway..

Thanks!

Sounds like the screen has gone, you might as well get a new one on contract.

It doesn't make any sounds, the buttons light up, and that's it.

I've calmed down a bit now! But still very annoyed about it, and worried about my important photos.

But I am going to get a contract phone tomorrow (ASAP) - probably a Nokia, but not sure which network? Prob. go to Carphone Warehouse.

Hi Planet,

If you're currently on a contract, your service provider may be able to have the phone sent away for repair. If you're on Pay As You Talk you'll need to purchase a new handset.

Your images and ringtones will be lost unless you're able to connect the phone to your PC to transfer the files.

Have you tried ringing the phone whilst the phone is switched on, you may still be able to receive calls as it may just be the screen that's damaged.

You may also be able to make a claim through your home contents insurance if available.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies - but amazingly, my phone started working again! I kept trying to turn it on during the weekend and nothing except the buttons lighting up, but I started it yesterday, and it came on, no problems! Weird eh?
