i reported it as a fault on the bt site maybe if they get enough people doing something they will sort it out

when i call my bbv number im told " the other person has hung up" no 1571 or anything

This is probably gonna sound daft, but I am quite new to this. Like everyone else on this forum I have had problems with my BT broadband talk. At first i thought it was my fault beacuse I changed the router channel from 1 to 12....

I have re-done the steps on the website www.bt.com/bbv about 7 times before I rang tech support and realised there was a problem. It won't cause a problem with the amount of times I have re-done the procedure will it?

Cheers in advance of replies.

no it shouldnt ive been doing the same thing all day if anything you might have to reconfigure the adaptor again once everythings back in working order

to do this you log into your router find out what ip the router has given to the 10v use the ip to access the 10v settings

and remember when you use the configure page at bt you may need to change the first part of the url to the adaptors ip address

i cant ring out anymore on my talk number, but rings on incoming calls from my mobile ok

every call i get no ring tone or connection to my numbers through the broadband phone.

so looks like its gone down again, even though the phone light is on on the hub.

Yeah im getting the no dial tone thing too it takes a few seconds to come on the line after picking it up just checked again and the dialtone is there instantly now

Still not able to take incoming calls tho noticed every now and then the BBV lights flashes for a few minutes then stops again

i find it strange that one of the largest of the uk's communication provider can have these type of problems lasting more than 36 hours yet theres companies like vonage and the likes that have a solid service according to user reviews on the net

BT BBV is becoming a huge pain in the neck with the hub phone debacle and now service unreliability and the redirection of the phone number for the BroadbandTalk number to India (not being racist but whenever you ask them about Broadband Talk they put you through to Newcastle anyway as they are not trained on it and you have to spend a completely useless 10minutes explaining to them that it's BroadbandTalk which is the problem and not the actual Broadband service).

What really irks me is that both the Hub and the Voyagers are locked so you cannot set-up another SIP account through the router meaning if you want to make VoIP calls you have to have your PC on needlessly to do so.

They are taking the mickey.
