Are you sure it was officially T-Mobile that sent you the text / e-mail? Because when I was on O2 Contract with 12 month tariff I had calls and messages at month 10 telling me I could upgrade but they were 3rd party companies and had nothing to do with O2.

I checked with O2 and they told me I could only upgrade 1 month before the contract end.

Are you absolutely sure that the e-mail or text was from t-mobile?

I (and many others) have been getting these annoying messages or phone calls from companies pertaining to be 3 mobile (or other operator) but they're not. They offer upgrades and stuff and ask if you'd like to discuss your "mobile phone contract".

I have to be honest, if I took out an 18-month contract I would kinda expect to only be offered an upgrade once this period had passed. Its like having a 12-month contract and asking to be upgraded on month 6, they generally won't wear it. I would suggest you check your terms and conditions.

You def cant upgrade until the 17th month, but as someone has said, are you sure it was T-Mob? The '3' network are very cunning at phoning you up (or agents for them anyway) and trying to get you to agree to contracts where they are virtually paying YOU to sign up.

If you are with T-mob, stick with them. I Have used all of the operators over the years and T-Mob are without doubt the best network for service and overall value.

it will defintely be a 3rd party trying to get your business, it happens all the time where i work (leading mobile phone network) and the reason they tell u that u can upgrade is because they get some of your information from ofcom, legally i must say. all they will have is a number, name, maybe address, and when u started your contract, they wont know u're on 18 month deal or what tariff you're on or wot ya bank details are etc.
be wary of them and never agree to anything.
the network will only upgrade you on your 17th month.
if u want to stop this register with the TPS (telephone preference service) and u wont get anymore unwanted sales calls, if u do they are breaking the law.
simple as that really.
