Sipdiscount gets rid of UK free calls
Yikes, sipdiscount have done it - they stopped the UK free calls
. Not only that but they put it up to 0.02 Euros/min which is way more than other providers. Goodbye Sipdiscount! Maybe even goodbye VoIP for now, as it is much less appealing without those free calls. Anyone know any other providers who do free UK calls? |

I won't be pumping any money into VoipCheap, Internetcalls.com, Sipdiscount, VoipDiscount, VoipStunt or any of the other sites that are owned and run by the same company, Finerea. They will stop all free calls on these soon, I promise you. Compare the websites, they are all the same layout. They just get you to put up 10 Eur and then take away free calls, so you have to use up your credit.

Yes, they are all the same group, run by Betamax.
http://www.myvoipprovider.com/blogcategory/Betamax Their first offering VoIPBuster dropped UK calls 15 months ago, the co.uk version of VoIPCheap a couple of weeks back. So far I have had over 19 months of free calls, it's only been recently they have enforced the topup requirement, so for 16 months I have had completely free calls for just Six Euro, have recently had to top up with 10 Euro. So I can't complain really, the amount of money I have saved by dumping my landline and use VoIP has been a fair sum, just the saving in line rental has been over £200, then you add on the fact I haven't had to pay for 99% of my calls. For those who came very late to these companies, then I suppose it can feel like they are now fleecing you, yet if you had joined when they started up, you would have been laughing, remember all these free calls can't last forever and ever without some countries being taken away from the list. But it's not like they have decided to offer free calls for a few weeks and then drop the destination, they have been offering free calls for over 18 months, so no point in getting angry if you are slow off the mark. Look how many people are using the landline service 1899 and 18185 plus dial thru services from Finarea without complaint. Like I said above, I've had over 19 months of free calls, so they haven't just taken my money then dropped the free calls. |

You're right madmulla. I have also had 13 months of free calls off them and shouldn't be complaining really
Line rental savings about £150 already. Spent on VoIP kit, about £90. If they start charging for calls though, Talk Talk looks a better offer with internet and free calls for £19.99 per month compared to my NTL internet for £17.99 plus free VoIP. Call quality might be better too. Tom Last edited by tomblandford11 : 25-09-2006 at 16:55. |
