Probably not. He was probably just star struck at getting through. And so what if he takes his mum shopping. What is your REAL issue with him? Do you have issues with your mum? I only ask as you seem to think the fact that he cares for his mum, and that she was chuffed that he got through is something bad?
I think you need to give it a break. |

I found every aspect of his feature on the show to be sickening. Do you not think you need to get a bit of perspective? It was a singer on a TV show Not serious ones thankfully... You know I've never said that... Yes you have. And I think you need to come to terms with the likelihood that your mate Jonathan won't be in the competition for much longer! ![]() |

It doesn't seem fair that there's still a pro thread but the anti one is locked.

She used to be my only enemy and never let me be free, Catching me in places that I knew I shouldn't be, Every other day I crossed the line, I didn't mean to be so bad, I never thought you would become the friend I never had. Back then I didn't know why, why you were misunderstood, So now I see through your eyes, all that you did was love, Mama I love you, Mama I care, Mama I love you, Mama my friend, You're my friend I didn't want to hear it then but I'm not ashamed to say it now, Every little thing you said and did was right for me, I had a lot of time to think about, about the way I used to be, Never had a sense of my responsibility. Back then I didn't know why, why you were misunderstood, So now I see through your eyes, all that you did was love, Mama I love you, Mama I care, Mama I love you, Mama my friend, You're my friend ,You're my friend But now I'm sure I know why, why you were misunderstood, So now I see through your eyes, all I can give you is love, all I can give you is love Mama I love you, Mama I care, Mama I love you, Mama my friend, [Repeat X2] You're my friend Your're my friend In love in you,in love in me and love that's true, and guaranteed

I'm not that interested in sob stories as we all have a story to tell. Having said that,I have friends who are full time carers & it is far more demanding than some professions or some students.
In life there is a certain thing described as chemistry & this is certainly the case where Jonathan is concerned. Obviously he has made some form of impression in 3 minutes, which is brilliant for him, considering he featured on the first show. He comes across as a decent, caring human being who has natural singing ability & unfortunately certain individuals in the human race are only too keen to pull them to shreads because they perhaps aren't as gifted, kind or have the ability to see some good in others. Yes I do criticise others,I am the first to admit it,however not when someone who is obviously gifted & has a kind face, who probably thought at long last, I might have a chance, which we have heard countless stories of 'this is my last chance.' I for one, will be following his progress along with some others that have impressed me,at this early stage. |

I would just like to make a valid point here. I was going to start a new thread then thought actually there's not alot of point...but I might anyway.
Will everyone please leave Jonathon and his mum alone? Everyone's acting like it was his choice to mention his mum, but iin fact it was the producers after a sob story. How would you feel if Jonathon came on these forums and read some of the things people are posting? Put yourself in his position..how would you feel if you were auditioning for The X Factor, and the producers approached you? You tell them what you do for your ill mother, and all of a sudden people up and down the country are slagging you off for it on forums! I agree the producers are using this as an excuse for a sob story and a ratings winner, but thats just it the producers, not Jonathon himself. Give the guy a break! *rant over* |

He's obviously going to get through to the final 12 because he doesn't shut up about his ill mom!

His singing was fairly average, but I am glad he got through. I couldn't help but think when he was standing in front of the judges 'damn, I bet the man is packing some serious meat'
We need some eye candy for godsake, and X Factor is blatantly not about the talent (Shane Ward anyone?). |
