Like the title says, there is a current offer in Argos where the Hitachi 42" 42PD6700 HDTV has had £500 taken off the price and is now just £999. Is it any good though?

Save yourself a quid and buy a McFlurry.

I'm trying to find out some more details, like if it actually has HDMI? Cause if it doesn't, I wouldn't personally be willing to pay that much for such a large TV, which I guess will be your main one, when it'd not gonna have the connectivity.

Hmmm, something as elementary as putting that it has a HDMI connection seems impossible. The only places I can see that say it does have HDMI are those offering a free HDMI cable worth £49.99 with the purchase. Nowhere else mentions it.

THIS site suggests it has those features.

Hitachi don't list it but it's supposedly the successor to THIS model as shown on Hitachi's site.

I have the Hitachi 42PD7200 which is 2 models up I think and it's a fantastic plasma, Great picture, Great Sound and looks good too.

It cost me £2000 so the one at argos looks a bargain.

Highly Recomended

Edit: My model has - 3 x Scart(1RGB), HDMI, ComponentVideo, VGA, DVI, audio in/out, RGB video, S-Video, the Hitachi models are usually very good connection wise as well.

Edit2: I just found a spec and that model has Freeview built in

All 'HD Ready' labelled TVs must have an HDMI port (or DVI-HDCP, which requires an HDMI-DVI adapter). It's part of the mandatory HD Ready logo specifications.
