Hey guys, firstly, darren and Lana are in the new issue of Linedancer Magazine. If you would like a copy, you can send a cheque for £3 to :
Clare House, 166 Lord Street, Southport, Merseyside PR9 0QA or go to Linedancermagazine.com.
secondly, I went to see the couple dance in Newport on Thursday night. More details and pictures will be up at www.darrenandlana.com and http://darrenlana.diaryland.com soon but i'll give you a report for now.
They performed their lindyhop, Freestyle, Lambada, Milonga, American Smooth and Flamenco. They also did two new dances : A show dance to 'feelin good' by Nina Simone and a jive to 'rock around the clock' (i think!) which was excellent. Darren also performed a linedance with his dad, sister and her partner to 'All or nothing' by O-town.
I had come from Leeds and they seemed really appreictive that I had come all that way to see them (I had also gone to visit Darren's cousin who I have made friends with because of the show) They thanked me for coming and we went out for a drink after the show which was great. (although I got far too drunk and can't remember much of my dance with Darren)
Overall it was a brilliant night and I encourage everyone to go and see them perform if you have the chance (they are performing in bristol, surrey, scotland and possibly stoke soon) Lana is absolutely lovely and was born to be a performer and Darren is really geniune, he's exactly as he appears on tv, like Arlenne said 'you have truth burning inside you in everything you do' and that's true, he was a lovely guy and his family were lovely to me as well, esp darren's sister Gemma and his dad Eric.
Definately worth the trip.
