I have a Technika DVD recorder which I bought from Tescos before Christmas for £79. Not even a year old and already it's starting to play up.

Just been looking on eBay and spotted this DVD recorder with an 80Gb hard disc drive for £85.

Does anyone have any experience of these or are they to be avoided? The price seems too good to be true and I don't want to buy something which will bugger up within a year but saying that I don't really want to spend a lot as cash is very tight at the moment.

The Freeview thing I'm not bothered about but I also read a review on the net saying it was quite noisy which I think would become annoying after a while.

Are there any other machines for a similar price or is there a very good reason why this unit is so cheap?
