Payg phone??? Did you register it??? Yes you can, just call customer services and tell them you lost it, they will send you a new sim, may cost around a fiver for the replacement sim.

the good news is, if someone hasn't used it, you'll get your credit back too.

If you need a new handset too you could think about buying a new payg handset on that network, they may treat it as an upgrade and give you some free credit.

if you need the customer service number look on their website.

I take it you have a pay and go phone? Getting your number back is simple - and free.

What you need to do is get another pay and go sim (on same network as your lost one), then phone customer services, tell them whats happened, and what you want to do. Give them your lost phones number, and tell them you want that number transferred to your new sim. Give them the number on the new sim too. In a couple of days, your old number will be on that new sim, complete with any credit and services etc you had on the old one.

O2 are especially helpful, i can say from experience.

all they need to do is associate a simcard to your number, you will need to obviously pass security questions to be able to do that
