SCD4 The Alternative Review.........
THE FINAL COUNTDOWN ..............
So here we are a week and a half to go before the return of the one the only Strictly Come Dancing!!!! While the wardrobe elfs stock up on sequins and multicoloured lycra and check if they have enough feathers to do a whole series, (and we wonder if they practised on "How do you solve a problem like Maria" hmmm lets hope not) ......... We are thankful that the dear old Beeb has finally realised that this years contestants are not Jaye and Andrew, Ian and Zoe and Anton and Jan.......and that there are actually a whole load of new contestants who they've finally discovered the real names of!!!! Our fave dancers will be trying to knock their new partner into shape, and we want to know if Claire King is the new Fiona...........(surely the man who came second on Love Island can do better this year) Er no I didnt watch it I noticed it when I was flicking channels........ and how long it will be before Mica demands to remove her shoes and Ian tells her ever so politely that she cant!!!!Then there will be Brucie, dear old Brucie hope someone has pointed out where the autocue is and that its a good idea to read what it says on it and not improvise, and of course there will be our favourite judges polishing their paddles and perfecting their pained grimaces, cleavage and drool count, and seeing if they have enough cravats........ So amidst all that will anyone notice the crisis that is brewing, the change that has been effected since last time (and I dont mean more couples and less sequins) I mean Anton (suave dapper Anton) not only in a shocking pink shirt but also SHOCK!! HORROR!! sans tie.........whats this has he come over all casual, have the wardrobe pixies stolen all his ties in an effort to make him look more relaxed, or is the man himself trying to look cool and casual?????? Answers on a postcard please......... Thats it for now please watch this space for updates as the eve of Strictly draws ever closer...................................... I have seen several references to this in the forum, but all I have seen from the Beeb is a vague reference to 'October'. |

A little musing........
Have any of you been watching celebrity Masterchef? The presence of one Matt Dawson (soon to be tripping the light fantastic on Scd or perhaps just tripping) has been fascinating and led me to wonder if perhaps the SCD Wardrobe elves may have been watching too and when he comes whisking down those stairs on the first show, will he be wearing a white glittery chef style top and black and white check sequined trousers, or perhaps a chef style stretchy lycra babygro (Im sure we all remember Ian's fetching turquoise one in SCD2)!!!!
And who knows maybe in one hand he will carry one of his culinary creations to feed to the lady on his arm........well just a few random thoughts to be going on with...........

Not long now..........
so guys and gals Ive finally seen the trailer for our beloved SCD, and well its good to know that feet at the very least will be allowed on the dance floor......
Lets hope the rest of them will be allowed on too!!!!Interesting set of feet they show too, not entirely sure that Emma Bunton would wear orange platforms, (or perhaps we are really getting ginger spice and no one has told us) Actually Ive no doubt she probably did wear platforms at some point, but lets just hope she wears something more fitting on SCD!!You know its bad enough we have to wait this long to see the show again but making us wait even longer at night to see it, arrgghh not fair........ Toodle ooo for now. |

It's only on at a later time this week, I believe. It's because there's some footie game on, this week, and the BBC, have to get their priorities right.

Only Hours to go......
Well at last Saturday has arrived and our fave show is nearly here. Picture the scene in the dressing room: Craig is making sure his fake tan is even, and deliberating over which colour cravat to wear tonight.......Arlene is seeing how much cleavage she can get away with. Bruno is learning some more superlatives and practising with his score paddles, and Len is testing his bony knob and practising his best keyhole techniques..........
Meanwhile the wardrobe elves are trying to initiate the new male dancers into the delights of sequins and lycra, and trying to convince the ladies that shocking pink really does suit them. Brucie and Tess will be practicing their opening twirl and she will be showing him where the autocue is and trying to persuade him to actually use it............ And our fabulous professional dancers will be practising a very special group conga just in case a fast exit is necessary......... Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick Tock, how much longer do we have to wait, please let the fun begin....................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Well it didnt take long........
Arlene of course had to start drooling and lo and behold it was over Mark Gorgeous Ramprakash, put the cleavage back in and wipe up the drool woman, you should know better by now
Matt Dawson was in Pink, er Pink, yes thats right pink, Anton was wearing something as yet unnamed and untamed around his neck, Ian was showing chest of course, Brendan was well Brendan, Karen was stunning, Camilla was stunning, as were all the profs in the demo dances, but please, please, please will someone find Tess a decent normal looking dress to wear before the end of the series, that pink one defies description......... More tomorrow my lovelies when Ive had a proper chance to peruse the show at my leisure. |

Many apologies for Tess's disarray, she rushed away from the Flying Doctor's surgery and took the blood pressure pad with her. Bless! she wore it all evening. Did Beeb costume leave her to the last minute and run out of ideas, one asks? Have a spare bolt of that dreadful colour. Lawks!! Lady Boz being a cat!!

I think there is an explanation for Tess' dress. When her measurements were sent to the wardrobe people, they were sent in millimetres. But the wardrobe people took them as inches. So big red dress was in fact HUGE red dress. Just before the show they realised their mistake, so ran a safety pin and elastic through the seam at the top and sort of gathered it up. And agreed that nobody would notice that the straps were nowhere near her shoulders.

Looked like it was designed and made in the dark. Poor Aunty beeb seems to be short of money.
I think that this seris looks tyo be very promising The partnerships on the whole look very well matched Even Tarby's waltz was passable as was Peters- i wonder if he has the same bug as me as he seems to be sporting a nose in the same shade of red as me. Either that or we are both auditioning to play a certain reindeer this year Ah that s it maybe some one told him that a rudolph had been a famous edancer and he was trying to emulate him |

Peter has always had a red nose. I think he must have been born with it. But he clearly had a lot of pancake on during his dance because suddenly redness had gone!

What no fake tan...........
well at the very least a lot less fake tan, both Bruno and Craig looked almost normal, though I agree with Matt about Craig's suit, which looked rather too big for him apart from anything else.
So Strictly has returned to our screens, Craig retains that sharp tongue but does smile more, Arlene retains the cleavage and drool factor, Len is perfection itself and Bruno is having fun with his paddles as usual. Obviously the wardrobe department had a power cut when they were making the costumes, why does poor Erin keep getting lumbered with those odd looking and coloured dresses no one else has to wear them!! Who on earth thought Carol Smilie and Lime green was a good idea? Someone must have mixed up the pink lycra with whatever the real colour was supposed to be, and excuse me but pink lycra and gold lame? Poor Lillia, gorgeous woman in a strange dress......... The dainty one of course looked lovely as did Karen who I think with lovely Mark will go far. Bruce even managed to remember the autocue but the jokes havent improved. I look forward to next week and seeing what the women can do.

All times are GMT. The time now is 06:20.

and how long it will be before Mica demands to remove her shoes and Ian tells her ever so politely that she cant!!!!

Actually Ive no doubt she probably did wear platforms at some point, but lets just hope she wears something more fitting on SCD!!
