Philips DVP5960 - Opinions & Facts please

Has anyone in the UK got this DVD Player?

All I want to know is does the SCART on it output RGB?

If the output is RGB quality I will be buying one. I really need a DivX DVD Player with a USB port and this is ideal as it has HDMI if I want to use that in future and is DivX Ultra Certified for if I want to use that later too.

Thanks.

The first thing I did was download and read the manual. There was no mention of RGB at all, not even SCART. The manual to which the link you provided is different to the one I found, thank you VERY much. I am VERY appreciative meltcity (even though it the reply with only a link seemed a 'tad' rude. ).

I must have found the manual for another country where SCART isn't used.

You are a star!

According to the manual, it only supports usb1.1 and WMA/MP3/JPEG

and page 39 states it's RGB compatible.

Most DVD players with a USB Port and DivX-compatible don't say that they play DivX from it but I've read reports from many users that DivX can be played on this, and another one I was considering.

I'm not registered there so couldn't ask questions over there so thanks guys!

USB 1.1 is about the standard for DVD Players with a USB port.

Has any owner used the USB, will it read Flash pens, card readers or hard drives ? The LG190 will only read some pen drives and no other device. the LG has so many things that work "only if" that it is mostly useless. I am looking for a good Divx Player, is the Phillips the answer ? Thanks..
