Just upgraded my phone to a Sony 810i from a Nokia 3300i. So i decide to have a look and see what ring tones i can get and to my shock they are £3.50 a go. Bearing in mind that I can put music on my phone from my CD's and set them as my ringtones. I could also download music from certain music sites and put them on my phone which would cost 89p a song. This just seams like a license to print money, what a rip off.

you should not actually have full tracks as your ring tone as you do not own the right to broadcast it openly as it is meant to be for personal use only, that is why ringtones are expensive i believe.

Why is the feature to et song as your ringtone there since it's illegal to broadcast then? It don't make sense but you're the first person saying this. I and everyone else I know will set what song we want as a ringtone. They shouldn't have made rthe option to set it as a tone f its illegal to broadcast it openly.

Tranfer music from your CDs/Computer to your phone, or cut them down so that only a clip of the song is used on the phone.

Alternatively, (going slightly out-of-date now) you can get free polyphonic ringtones from www.cbfmobile.com - that's what I use. All you do is pay for a small amout for your GPRS charges (usually no more than 5p).

Why are you paying for ringtones???

You can make your own with....Audacity from your own cd's or MP3 soundclips downloaded from t'internet.
