Who was that My Sharona cover by on Chris Moyles this morning?

I'm not talking about the Rogue Traders track they played that uses the riff from it though, I mean the track he played afterwards. I think it was a japanese band or something...

Dave said something that sounded like 'The Polly 6', or 'Apolly 6' or something along those lines anyway!

The Polysics I'm guessing from the above post. They are a Japanese Band.

The Polysics cover has been around for ages. Why is he playing it now?

It was because they played the new Rogue Traders track which is pretty poor, and it either samples or uses the main riff from My Sharona. To illustrate its crapness they played the Polysics track as an example of a good rip off of My Sharona.

Hmmm, I had the misfortune of seeing The Polysics when they supported Kaiser Chiefs and it was truly dreadful.

They say time flies when you're having fun, well I felt like I could have sailed the Atlantic and back in the time it took them to get off.
Their poor cover of My Sharona was the only song in their suicide inducing repertoire which vaguely carried a tune, but they did try their best to thrash that out of it.

I keep missing Chris Moyles though, which is a shame cos I like his show. Haven't heard the new Rogue Traders yet so I couldn't possibly comment.

Polysics are amazing live
they're my sharona track is reaaly bad though
