Hi all!
Can anyone sort this out for me???
I know the ladies are doing a group mambo in week one but what are the male celebs doing?
It has usually been the chacha but people have been saying its the waltz? Or is it some waltz and some chacha???
And dont even start me on week two! Im confused anough already! Not that it takes much mind you

I'm not sure, but I think it's: -

Week 1:
Women - group mambo,
Men - either cha cha or waltz

Week 2
Women - unsure
Men - group West coast/East coast swing

Week 3
Jive
Tango

But I might be wrong

What are the odds of that?

I've just looked at week 2's dances last year, and I think they were the quickstep and the rumba. So that could well be the case this year as well.

EDIT: Yeah, last year, week 1 was cha cha/waltz, week 2 quickstep/rumba and week 3 argentine tango/jive, so that does look likely.

I think it might be a mixture of Waltz and Cha Cha for the men in the first week. On the BBC interview with Darren Gough, it looked as though Matt and Lilia were practising Cha Cha, whereas Flavia and Jimmy were doing a waltz.

It could be that one of them was practising a dance for later weeks, but if Matt and Lilia were doing a Waltz in week one, then they wouldn't being doing Cha Cha until week four at the earliest, so it would be a bit weird for them to be practising it already.

I hope it's a combination, it would be a bit dull to have seven versions of the same dance and then the group dance.

I think I've been slow off the mark here, someone has probably already answered this but my understanding of the first two weeks from what people have put on other forums is that in week one the male celebrities and female professionals will fighting for their places doing a cha cha cha and the female celebrities and male pros will do a group mambo. In the second week, the female celebs will be dancing the waltz and the males will do a group east coast swing.

Does anyone happen to know what happens after that? Because I've heard two versions, one is that the male celebs will do the tango and the females the jive as usual in week three but some people are saying that they are doing the quickstep (male celeb) and rumba (female celeb) in the third week. Anyone know? I suppose it doesn't really matter and I'll find out soon enough but I like to look knowledgeable

Personally I like to be surprised at who dances what as it makes SCD the more to look forward too.
Can't wait

I've heard of at least one couple (female celeb, male pro) who are supposed to be doing the quickstep in week 2.

What is going on? I hate it when perfectly good programmes are messed about with in this way. Sort it out BBC!

Yeah, I reckon it's quickstep/rumba in week 2, as that happened last year and the other two weeks (cha cha/waltz in week 1 and tango/jive in week 3) mirrors last year as well.

I'm pretty sure it's: -

Week 1 -
Women - group mambo
Men - half do cha cha, half waltz

Week 2 -
Women - half do quickstep, half rumba
Men - group West coast/East coast swing

Week 3 -
Back to normal, half do jive and half do tango.

I know about the group dances and the week 3 dances from the BBC press release. Individual dances from weeks 1 and 2, I'm guessing on, but it does look likely.

I think quackaquacka is right, I've just noticed that Digiguide mentions for the first show the couples will be dancing "either a cha cha cha or a waltz"- that must be referring to the men as we know the women are doing the group mambo.

Either that or Digiguide are being lazy and assuming the format is the same as last year!
