Put in a DVD, wouldn't play and now won't open either. Can sometimes access disk navigator but usually not. LCD reads 'Load' and nothing else. This happened to anyone? Any ideas?

Unplug it from the mains.
Wait 15 seconds,plug it back in and the tray should open

Thanks, yeah tried that along with pressing 'power on' with combinations of buttons! No go.. Look like a visit to Piosneer is called for.

When you power it up from the mains hold the "open" button on the player immediately for about 20 seconds and see if the tray opens.
This worked on my 630

thanks for the suggestion.. nothing's working. Surprised there's no 'emergency open' slot as there used to be on cd players. Ah well..
