I'm supporting her because I know her....and her young niece, Nikkita who is in Simon's section.

They are both great.

Katie and Nikkita are my favourite two from their respective categories. I didn't even realise until tonight's shows that they were aunt and neice. How weird if they both make it through to the live shows. Then they would be rivals. I sincerely hope they both make it.

I thought Katie's accent sounded a bit local to me. I'm sure she must stay quite close to where I live.

I went to school with Katie's sister. She is from a large family as I am. My younger sister was in the same class as Katie.

Imagine our surprise to find out she and her niece are in the final eight. I knew she was familiar but didn't know who she was for certain until my younger sister called me tonight and told me who she was.

I liked her from the start and only now I'm being a wee bit biased.

Well I hope they both do really well. Katie's face was a picture when the penny dropped that she was through. Reminded me a bit of brenda's reaction last year.

Do you mind me asking if she stays near me?. I'm from Lanarkshire, not too far away from Glasgow, but listening to her speak, she sounded quite local.

Yes she's from Glasgow. Not sure what area she lives in now, but originally from the Govan/Ibrox area when we were all kids.

I loved the fact she was trying to make Sharon feel better and telling her it didn't matter when she thought Sharon was giving her bad news. Too funny. I like her, good voice, pleasant unassuming personality. She's never going to be a multi-million selling superstar but hopefully the exposure and boost to her confidence will give her the impetus to estanlish a comfortable career in music. Good on her.

They are my two favourites too. Both great singers, each in her own way.

I liked your summation of that.

Let me tell you now from what I recall from my earlier years. She had a hard upbringing and from what I see on my screen, it pretty much sums it up and shows it.

I think if she can last one or two weeks into the show, viewers are going to really feel a good bit of empathy with Katie.
