Just found out one of my numbers (a Pay As You Go on All Calls) has been disconnected due to me not using it - it's one of my old phones that still occasionally gets a text or two.

Anyway, does anyone know what happens next - if I call them, will they now want to charge me to reconnect or will they allow it with a top-up?

Typically, was planning to hand the phone to my Dad, as he's yet to embrace them. It did have credit on too - D'oh!

If anyone knows what happens in these circumstances, please reply - cheers in advance.

If you want it re-connected then you will have to pay a connection fee and also all the credit that you had on that phone is now lost.

D'oh! I had kissed goodbye to the credit, but feared a fee for reconnection - any idea how much? Thinks I'll have to call them and let them know I planned to give the phone to someone for Christmas, if I need to pay to reconnect, I might as well use that nice Virgin mobile sim I have around, with it's useful free voicemail..

..do you recon that might persuade them to reconnect me for the cost of a top-up or would that fail. If "yes" to it failing, then Viva La Virgin!

One 2 one turn of you sim if you've not used it for 180days, you loose any credit you had on it, and they charge you £10 to switch it back on.

Does anyone know with Virgin .... if you have a sim card, receive text's and calls - BUT don't make any outgoing calls, will your sim still remain "alive" or are you meant to make billed outgoing calls?

friend switched from 121/t-mobile to Virgin, registered all the details, ported the number over, uses it - BUT has not received a single bill, when he dials 789 to check on the call cost, it says you have yet to make a chargable call !! - nice cheap phone (at the moment), but he doesnt want to be in a position where he looses the number !!

He will need to make a call or send a text every so often to keep the sim alive.
