0870 is charged at national call rates but I cant really say how much a national call rate is.

Usually AROUND 8p per minute daytime, 4p off-peak, 2p weekend. I THINK!

On BT Together plans, calling 0870 numbers would have cost: 7.509 ppm (Mon-Fri 6:00am-6:00pm) 3.749 ppm (Mon-Fri before 6:00am and after 6:00pm) 1.500 pmm (Sat & Sun) Non-BT Together residential customers would have been charged: 7.91 ppm (Mon-Fri 6:00am-6:00pm) 3.95 ppm (Mon-Fri before 6:00am and after 6:00pm) 1.50 pmm (Sat & Sun) (Except numbers beginning 0870 09, 0870 185, 0870 187 & 0870 188) Normal minimum call charge applies Edit: the rate reduced today Quote:
From 1st October 2006, the call rates for residential customers making 0870 calls will be reduced to 7ppm from 7.51ppm in the daytime, reduced to 3.69ppm from 3.75ppm in the evening and remain at 1.50ppm at the weekend. 3p set-up fee applies.
Details on the new rates here

Darren 0870 are dearer than national rate. Daytimes: BT charges 3p/min to 01 and 02 local / national numbers. Call 1899 charges 3 pence per call (not per min) to 01 and 02 local / national numbers. Evenings and weekends: BT charges 5.5p for up to an hour to 01 and 02 local / national numbers. Call 1899 charges 3 pence per call (not per min) to 01 and 02 local / national numbers. Primus Saver 2 (for no monthly fee) charges ZERO pence for up to 90 mins. Compare that to the cost of calling the rip-off 0870 numbers. Companies earn a cut of the revenue on 0870 numbers, hence they like to keep you hanging on hold for no real reason. Last edited by MadMulla : 02-10-2006 at 23:40. |
