I heared from a freidnt hat Eastenders do not want Grant Mitchell coming in and out and so they have decided to kill him of screen.

Now a few people will be pleased at this but i am guttered if it is true. Obviousley there is no confrimation but if that is the case i think it is wrong. If they plan to kill him bring him back to die.

If they should kill anyone it is Michelle there are only so many exscuses you can use for missing you families funeral.

Why kill him off? must they kill of every decent character? its getting really annoying now. Besides what about poor Courtney her mum dies now her dad? bit sick dont you think.

I really hope it is all becase for me at the moment they need far stronger charactors. At the momet i just see people like Max, Tanya, and Stacey holding it together as far as really good actors go. Obviousely there are more just naming a few. I think Grant would be a good return permanentley but i also understand what Kate Harwood is saying as the guest stints would not work forever. But if this is the case it means Latitia Dean may not be as welcome back if she is wanting another return.

Harwood - who has now left - did indeed say no more guesting but never ever did she say to finish the character off for good.

and seeing as your source is a 'friend', I absolutely don't believe it.

I really think EE will be going to far if they kill off yet another character off screen just because they wont commit to coming back permanently , it just spite.

What is wrong with having characters who come and go every now an again , in real life areas have people who visit for a while sometimes so why should Albert Square have to have everyone never leaving the borough. It is also a good way of having a big storyline with someone and then letting them go off again rather than hanging around doing nothing, must be cheaper too !

If they do, it shoud be on screen, otherwise it's another wasted opportunity by EE

I have been reading around and Ross Kemp said if Grant was to leave forever he would want him to go with a bang. I do not think anyone has even mentioned killing him yet.

This is spot on. Kate never even said anything about killing him off and even if she did she is no longer in charge.

I bet if you look at the ratings for EE when Grant returns to do a 'guest spot' and when he doesn't, the ratings are generally up when he reappears. I think EE bosses secretly love the fact they can pull one of the most popular and important characters in and out of the soap to help spice things up a bit when it things are getting dull.

There may be talk of EE bosses allegedly wanting him to either be in, or be out, as some fans wish he was a permanent character, but I bet behind closed doors they are secretly very happy with the situation, being able to play a 'trump card' by bringing in grant to the show.

It's their fault he keeps coming and going. They right him in, he doesnt just turn up and demand a short stint! Can't they just leave him in portugal now and be done with it. Why kill him?

But EEs can't go to the well too often; the 'big' return of Grunt can only be done maybe once more IMO.

If he comes back once more then he'll be asked to stay long term rather than mess around. An increasing number of viewers have little or no idea who he is or his history in Albert Square.

Yes but going on that basis any new viewer will not have any idea who any of the cast are. I dont think it matters bringing back old faces for visits, it reflects real life as people do visit there families, in fact soapland is the only place where people move away and are never seen again.

New viewers would get used to a character visiting for a short while, just as they would a new permanent character.

I heard Kate Harwood wants Megan Jossa back as she thinks she's a good young actress so maybe that's how they're gonna get her back, but they've done that with kathy already!

I think EE have ruined some of their best characters over the years with off-screen deaths - Angie, Cindy, Kathy...and they've totally diluted Grant's character with all the coming and going.

I think Ross Kemp nows where the money is and he is not daft. If i was him and they were offering me a load of cash to return i would take it. But i think he is been clever he will not commit to doing a full time contract.

I rember watching Pakinson and he said that he used to do a 15 hour day and then he would sleep in his locker room. Now that was 3 days a week so why would he commit to a permanent deal again as he would only end upbusting his balls for money he probabley does not need.

If this was to happen, it would be much better onscreen rather than off
