I've been with Tiscali for my internet and calls for about 18 months now and haven't had a problem with them, but have been paying line rental to BT.

I've decided to lump everything together and am getting everything from Tiscali.

Anyone had any experiences with them for line rental?

Only one question, if you pay your line rental to Tiscali, who repairs your telephone if it decides to break down?

Its not considered to be a good idea to move your line rental from BT,as you give up the ability to use cheaper suppliers like 1899.18185.,or CPS your calls, nor can you use the 1280 ovverride number to place your ngn calls via BT to get cheaper rates.

Your also lumbered with Tiscali crap customer service for your phone, and you have to call them on a 0870 number if its faulty.

I don't use any of these services, so it doesn't affect me.

Every silly going with Tiscali for calls. I was with them for 2 years with calls but was paying line rental to BT. In the 2 years I was with Tiscali for phone I had 3 billing mistakes with them and as some say Tiscali customer service is poor.

If you 'own' your telephone, you are responsible for it's repair/replacement, but if your line/exchange connection is faulty who will repair it,? your BT Line rental covers maintenance of your line, and, to the best of my knowledge you cannot rent a line from Tiscali, only calls.

While I've been paying line rental to BT and having my calls carried by Tiscali, my phone bills, which include my broadband, average £22 a month, which I don't see as being expensive. None of the calls have been taken by BT, as my bills from them have been for line rental only.

Who do I call if I have a problem with the service after it has gone live?
Tiscali Line Rental Customers: Your only point of contact will be the Tiscali Customer Service Team on 0870 7449966 (lines open 8am to midnight, 7 days a week, calls charged at national rate) for any issue regarding your phone line. If the issue requires an engineer to visit, Tiscali will arrange for a trained BT engineer to fix the problem.
Tiscali Talk calls-only customers: Any query regarding your bill or the calls you have made should be to Tiscali Customer Service Team on the number above, however if there is a problem with your phone line eg: you pick up the phone and there is no dial tone you will need to contact BT directly on 0800 800 151.

Funny how BT number is free and Tiscali is not and Tiscvali have to still get |BT to fix the line. Best keeping line rental with BT. if you still want to move calls over to Tiscali.

They charge nearly 8p a min peak to call their 0870 Customer Service Number.

You only save 1p a month moving your line rental to them.

You maybe making a saving untill you have to phone Tiscali customer servive that unlike BT is not free.
What Tiscali package are you on and whats free that you have to pay with BT. If you mean caller display I get that free from BT.
