Infrared Vs Bluetooth
Which is better. I am getting the nokia 7650 which supports both and wanted to know which was best. Also any one know where i could buy any good Infrared or Bluetooth hardware.
I have seen this Infrared one http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/995.htm?menu=246 but have not seen any Bluetooth products |

In my opinion, bluetooth is better.
This is for a few reasons: a) Faster b) Better range c) No need for line-of-sight d) Has limited security features however, IR is: a) Cheaper b) More widespread c) Easier to use/implement |

I have the 7650, i currently want the Blue Tooth PC Adaptor, i currently use my Laptop's Infra red to put new programs on. If you use Winamp, you can get a program for the 7650 to remotely control Winamp on your PC, change songs, play, stop, forward, rewind. Browse PC, but works with bluetooth only. So if like me you have Hifi connected to PC, it will make a nice remote control.

Just make sure you don't get the microsoft tranciever.
I made the mistake of getting the wireless optical desktrop for bluetooth, under the impression I could use it withmy T68i, but it turns out that MS haven't enabled the serial profile yet, so I can only use my phone as a wireless modem. I hope MS fix this soon, and it was one of the reasons why I bought the kit (altho it is a nice set) |
