Eastenders: Friday 6th October
Jane panics when Ian fails to return home after his accident. She goes to see Phil to try to get to the bottom of things, and is further worried when she realises that he has Ian's phone.
Jane is worried that Phil's mentioned her affair with Grant to Ian. Later, Ian arrived home before Phil goes in to stop him from talking to Jane. Ian tells Jane that he needed time to think and has a proposal for her. Meanwhile, Minty confides in SJ that he was the one responsible for Ian's accident. Elsewhere, when Sean tries to put down Jake, Ruby is quick to jump to his defence – but she unwittingly reveals some information which Sean finds very useful; Jack gives Honey a beautiful dolls' house for Petal and announces he's leaving as he has a job. Honey says goodbye to Jack and Billy is later delighted when Honey tells Petal that she's her mum. Also, Stella visits Phil to apologise for not drawing up the paperwork for the video shop in time. She offers to draw up a will for Ben to make up for it. |

I think for a first day he was quite good. You only have to look at every actor's first few weeks to see how much they changed. For a 13 year old boy joining an established family on one of the countries top soaps will be very daunting. |

Weird episode, rubys boring and sean and jake, dunno whats going on with Ian and jane. Thought it was very sweet with Honey telling Petal she was her mum. I don't usually notice bad acting but thought the new Peter was terrible, but I guess hes still young.

I disagree the old one was terrible and the actor wanted to leave to focus on his school work. Thomas Law is a cracking little actor and was very good in Casualty in which in had recurring role. |

I really thought Ian was going to slap Jane when he told her to close her eyes
Quite a good episode. Jane's acting was good

Good episode tonight.
Adam and Laurie are two fine performers and are really shining at the moment. Both are a credit to EastEnders so it's good that they're so dedicated to the show. This storyline is really interesting, I wasn't a fan of Jane's affair but it could end up having a great climax if tonight's episode was anything to go by. Some other strong scenes tonight but it was the Beale stuff that stood out for me. It's also worth noting that SJ wasn't as annoying as she usually is but that was probably down to the fact that her appearences were somewhat brief. Nice gentle continuation of the Petal storyline - it has been v.good & well/sensitively handled so far.

Minty fights back.
![]() Ian. I'm scared. The new Peter. The fat dark (black) man spoke. I wonder if him and the lady barmaid extra have ever spoken to each other. Ruby. I'll just stop now. 10/10. (There should me a smilie here, but have been forced to remove it due to the smilie limit. *rolleyes*) Eastenders is back on form.

That was quite an odd episode as people have said. It was good because we got to see new angles on the characters - Phil being given more to do and Minty's reaction to him were convincing. Ian was actually quite menacing at the end; I was sure he was gonna hit Jane too. That should be a good build-up storyline. I was also thinking tonight Pat mentioned Pauline but when is the last time they were seen together? Ditto Pauline and Peggy?
Apart from that, the Jack/Peggy/Honey/Petal storyline bordered but didn't descend into pointlessness. I am kind of annoyed that Honey now has to go through more by trying to smother Petal - can't she just learn to love her? |

I think Minty was being unfair to Phil. It's no one's fault but Minty's that the car wasn't fixed properly. He has no right to say he will drag Phil down too.
