Evening,
Have a Creative Zen Micro (5) which is 2 yrs old. Hadn't charged it in ages and it came up with the recovery screen when I plugged it in. Wouldn't boot up correctly and I accidentally hit 'Reload Firmware'. Now it's missing firmware and when I go onto the internet and download the correct firmware it won't install (I think because windows doesn't recognise it as a player, it comes up as something else- turns out I can't install the driver because it needs new firmware before it'll be detected correctly and I can't install the firmware because I don't have the drivers working.
As you can see, this is sickening.
Help me out, please...

Thanks for that...
I'll pick up an ashtray for my motorcycle when I'm on. It should be as much use as your comment.

Get me a kickstand for my cat while you're on eBay will ya mate ?

Dunno if you've tried this. But the Creative forums have a guide to connection problems.

Many thanks,
Those links led me to a discussion area which stated that the problem is with Windows Media Player 11. When I uninstalled it, reinstalled the Creative drivers and reconnected the device it was recognised and updated correctly.
Thanks again, you saved the Zen from becoming a paperweight!
