Oh no, not this old chestnut again. The ol' Jill Ha'penny debate...

If anything Louisa has a far better advantage...she's danced since she was three and is far younger than the rest! Yeah ok Emma has danced before but Spice Girls dance routines were hardely anything! One of their concerts were on tv the other day and their dancing was quite bad...and often out of time!!!

Actually, my point was that Emma and Louisa have had years and years of practise - they both came through the stage school system (unlike Jill, who had lessons as a child, but not the intensity of Stage School training). At stage schools, though you concentrate on Ballet, tap, modern and street, you learn most forms of dancing, and are familiar with the terms of dance, the count, what to do with your hands a feet etc...

All of these things have a bearing on how the judges mark the contestants, which affects the placement of the contestant, and means that more people have to vote to keep their less-practised favourites in.

Maybe it isnt entirely fair, however, I was reading an interview with Darren Bennett in Now! magazine and he put it succinctly - i"ts very difficult to find 14 celebs that have never had any kind of dance training". Ballroom and latin are so different to stage school training - Actually ballet training can make latin harder to dance as they use opposing pushes of energy (or so Becca told me on another forum -cheers becca).
So lets just live and let live!

Okay
Thats up to you! But remember the show is different things to different people -maybe you like seeing improvement, maybe someone else votes based on celebs or professional dancers -I vote based on how good the dancing is -so whether they have dance training or not Ill just vote for the best routine that is well executed

It's not just the girls...Ray Fearon has had previous dance training as well when he attended stage school, so you'll have to strike him off your list as well!!!

Yes ballet does make ballroom/latin hard to learn. I think we've discussed this sometime in the past. It's completely different... a lot of what you learn in Ballet is reversed... things like always walking with your toe first when you have to walk forward with heels in Ballroom... learning to flex your knees.. take long strides... it's a different feeling... not impossible by any means... just a new skill to learn.
