Wow, For a big guy he certainly did himself proud tonight. If he loosens up and concentrates on the Latin we could be in for a treat..

I was about to say "who?" lol
For a big guy he was very light on his feet. He could be another James Martin who mastered Ballroom but was troubled by Latin. Still if he can only manage do ballroom routines, but do them well that will still be great.

He certainly surprised me. I wasn't expecting him to be quite so good.

Good effort especially for a first night.

I was very surprised and impressed by Peter. He got my vote tonight. He was very elegant for a man of considerably bulk. It'll be interesting to see if he can transfer that to his Latin.

He could be a dark horse.

I was surprised at how graceful he was. I'll be supporting him as long as he's in it.

That's what worries me but you never know. If he puts his all into it and lets himself go then we could have a real contender on our hands.

I really enjoyed his dance tonight and I was surprised at myself because I hadn't rated him prior to seeing him tonight.

Peter was the one who surprised me the most tonight. Had feared he was going to be very awkward but he looked very smooth.

Like you say though, think he may struggle with something like the jive but could shine in the foxtrot.

And it was good to see Erin looking so pleased with her partner. Think she is probably the only pro that could have danced with Peter - had never realised quite how large he is!

He sure is a big boy which makes it so much more interesting to see how well he did.... Bulk isn't usually a good attribute for a dancer..

Erin needs to be very careful before she lets Peter throw her about in any lively dances - he was a great keeper, but had a tendency to fumble shots and catch them on the second bounce!

Erin is a fantastic teacher, she'll whip him into shape!!!!

I'm randomly wondering if him and Camilla chat in Danish and confuse everyone!!!!

He was a revelation. Erin is obviously a great coach but he clearly has a certain amount of innate ability too. Beautiful footwork and he carried it off wonderfully. Hope he goes far. He'll be getting my vote as the weeks go on.

Mine too probably.

I was pleasantly surprised and look forward to seeing what Erin can make him do. It's my experience that big men like him, find it hard to 'let go' enough for the Latin dances. They don't wiggle nearly as much as they should!

Who says size and grace have to be mutually exclusive? Much as I respect CRH his constant harping about being-light-on-your-feet-despite-being-big is beginning to be quite annoying. Peter Schmeichel spent his professional life as a goalkeeper, so it's a pretty safe bet he is extremely used to standing on the balls of his feet ready to spring in any direction in a split second, the same way Darren Gough springs to his feet when delivering a fastball. You can't do that if you are leaden footed.

Aw the big fella's gonna struggle with the Latin!!!

He put his heart into it but he's just a little lumbering for Latin I think.

Peters got a lot of work to do for the latin, he was struggling tonight in the swing, but the lift was great.
If anyone can whip him into shape its Erin!!
