I was just wondering do you think the professionals that have been on the show a while may get a little jealous of the new, and dare i say it, younger talent starting on the show this year i.e. Ola.

I just thought it could be an interesting conflict

Ola certainly seems to have stolen Lilia's title of Skimpiest Dressed.

I was also wondering if the Pros enjoy doing their dances together. They are so used to being in fierce competition, would it be a refreshing change to work together? Or a nightmare?

yeah Lilia was the professional i was thinking of actually, because her and Ola seem very similar in bot personality, body and area of dance.

as for them doing the professional dances, they all seem to really enjoy it, its probably nice to have a challenge like that because i'm guessing they'd normally just dance with their partners

I don't think it would be a nightmare as such, as one of them possibly takes the reins and helps organise the choreography with input from the others. They are meant to be professionals, after all. I remember this question was asked about Dancing with the Stars/last years' Strictly and my guess is that this is the way that they do it.

Looking at all the professionals together yesterday, they were so good! I suppose it must be a nice break to have no pressure on them for once, really.

Seeing Ola + james last night reminded me of when we first saw darren and lilia -they certainly have similarities!

Do they enjoy dancing with each other as opposed to against each other? It makes no difference.

Each couple will be watching the others on the lookout for who's got the best part of the choreography, who's got better steps, who is dancing front and centre. It's still a power struggle even when there's no title at stake!

Remeber Erin exploding at Brendand when he decided he'd come in the middle out of place during the Vienese Waltz? That was huge no-no in her book, since the nearer the end you dance, the more likely the audience are to remember you? No-one likes dancing-on first.

Professionals as they are though, they make it look like they are enjoying it!

Does Brendan have no permanent professional partner as he always dances with Karen.

I would personally think that the newer professionals would be a little jealous of the ones who've been on there previous years. I don't know about anyone else, but I now watch and support the professionals as much (if not more in some cases) as their celebrity partners.

Brendan hasn't had a dance partner since Camilla.

If they are true professionals they will smile and get on with it no matter how jealous/envious or how much they dislike their fellow professionals. It's written in our rules as professionals that you are to behave with respect for all your fellow professionals at all times - words to that effect. (We're also not allowed to be drunk & disorderly!)

seems that the new dancers dont get much choice of partners ! eg Darren obviously chose emma (being ex spice ) to give him a great chance of winning again ,unlike the new girls both ending in the bottom two with jimmy an nicholas ...bit of favouritism going on maybe

I'm know very little about the pro dancing world, but exhibition dancing must account for a big chunk of a dancer's/couple's earnings (the rest coming from teaching); the competition thing is just the icing on the cake of what is merely an unusual job.

I don't think there is any reason why the more experienced (in SCD terms) dancers will resent the new arrivals. Ola & Flavia have raised the glamour level on SCD by a huge amount for me (Hanna is the only SCD pro that I've had a crush on so far), but looks aren't enough to become "big" on SCD. I don't fancy Camilla at all (not my type etc.), but I think she is absolutely adorable; no one knows if Ola & Flavia can be as funny/charming/etc.

I don't think the professionals had any choice at all with which celebrity they were getting... I think that is done by the production team. Camilla & Ian didn't know who they were to get at until it started. Camilla said they were dying to find out who they had been given (that was just a few days before they began training).

I do think that perhaps the Producers are giving the more seasoned dancers the better celebrities though and leaving the newer dancers the ones with the least likely chance of making it through. Hard on the new dancers but also hard I supposed for the regular dancers if they are out in week 1.

So there's no hope for Erin then.

Heck is it any wonder she lost the plot last year so filled with jealousy at the tighter buttocks and more luscious smiles of the 'younger' female dancers.

The professionals dont choose their celebs.

And I dont think you could even compare Ola and James to Darren and Lilia because well lets face it Darren and Lilia all the way.

I read something about that yesterday, but can't find the link now (how flipping typical is that )...he basically said that he's retired from competition because he wanted to honour his career with Camilla.

I would hazard a guess that that is bravado. Something said to hide the fact that either he's gotten lazy having been out of pro comp for a while, or he's been seduced by his new found celebrity status and thinks he no longer has to compete. Or, he's having trouble finding a partner willing to put herself through hell and high water!!!

He was apparently writing a sort of autobiography with Camilla (according to the Dancing Times). While Camilla is soon to be the face of a leading accessories brand. No clue as to who this might be though!

Yes, Camilla is now the (very skinny) legs of Aristoc!
As for partenr choosing I think it is mostly worked out by height

Oh thanks for that - I can see her very slender and long legs as being a huge selling pint for Aristoc

Not completely sure about the partnerships beign decided solely on height. if that was the case we wouldn't have had little kylie Jones partnered with Jason Woods!

I expect the pros enjoy working together! As the show goes on, I think those pros who don't still have celebs to train will take over the choreography. Most of them don't compete against each other anymore anyway....

I think it's mostly done on the height thing, but personality must come into it a bit.

A massive height difference doesn't doo Matt & Nicole any harm!

Matt and Nicole are so amazing, but their former teacher tried to ban them dancing together because he thought that there was too much of a height difference for it to work. Millions of titles including World masters champs later, and I bet they've said "we told you so!" a few times!!!

As well as height they also look for any slants they could put on potential partnerships...eg claire and brendan being the bad boy and bad girl of the ballroom!

From what I've heard these pros all get on really well, although that is not generally the case among top pros in the dancing world.

Just because they compete against each other doesn't mean they hate each other! They could get on really amazingly well! Some might like each other others might not get on who knows! I would expect though that they all get on really well! It seems that way!
