Channel 4 EPG
Bat-man
08-10-2006
I have a completely standard Topfield.
The EPG for Channel 4 stops mid evening on Monday (9 Oct 06) and then is OK for Tuesday onwards.
Is this Channel 4 messing about or my Topfield at fault?
Thanks.

Hi Bat-man

You are doing better than me; Ch4 missing 24 hours starting Monday 9th at 7.00am. Then all there again until Saturday am.
I am on Crystal Palace; your not are you IIRC? I am using MyStuff and eit2mei.

Looks like Ch4 problems and not the Toppy

It reminds me of some organisations which still think of the web and any electronic comunication as somehow 'second best'.

Channel 4 really need to get their act together on this.

Agreed - thsi is something that the users of DTT are going to depend upon. The EPG should not be seen a some fancy add-on, it is a necessity for timers to work, to provide programme information, and needs to be accurate and up to date.

On the phone to C4 as I write this.

Hang on let's see what they have to say.

edit
They say they will get an engineer to look at it.
Mmmmm?

Further edit
In future let's all call C4 when they mess things up like this.
The number is 020 7306 8333.
Just because I was the only person to call she implied that it must be my equipment!
Cheeky so and so.

That's a worrying reply, not only withe the engineer thing (we all know about engineers looking at things ) but it implies that they didn't know about the problem.

They had no idea about it.

Also please see my further edit.

Go on - Give them a call.

In the light of Five's poor EPG record it will be interesting to see how they get on with their two new channels. In theory the EPG for the two channels should have started populating by now. I can't see any sign of it yet.

Just spoke to them - said they did know about it - In fact the man finished my sentence as soon as I said 'Did you know there is no programme infom,,,,'
Did not know why; engineers working on it.

Richard

PS Will keep number handy; thanks Bat-man

They only knew about because I called them.

I used to think it was only the BBC that did a good job of keeping the EPG up to date.

However, my faith was severely dented over the weekend when the BBC4 EPG was incorrect and I ended up with Shostakovitch instead of Jake Thackery...
