Hi

Hope this is the right place to post, does anyone know of a decent Media Centre (software) to use with my laptop and DVB-T usb stick.

I have tried Sesam, but this seems only to support Sat Cards and not terrestrial.

I would like to stream media over a wireless network
to my Laptop/TV for viewing media and browsing the net.

Is this possible without buying wondows media centre?

Thanks

KEvin

Have a look at these to see if they will do what you want:

TVedia - not free, but looks very nice for $35!
Meedio / MeediOS: Meedio was commercial software but Yahoo bought it up to use as their Go TV product. The last version of Meedio (1.41) was released as freeware and contained the full package. Now, an open-source community is redeveloping the original product to continue the concept without Yahoo branding and without charge.

After playing with several bits of media centre software, I decided Meedio was best for me because:

1. It seems to be the only one that can be operated by point and click (saves pressing up/down buttons continuously), and can work with a dual screen, i.e. the controls on one screen, video on another. This paves the way for a small touch screen monitor acting as a 'remote control' for the TV.

2. It manages to get far more items on the screen than others, e.g. lists of songs, therefore less scrolling.

3. One very important thing for me was the Music Videos module.

Thanks guys

So far only Media portal will recognise my Freecom USB stick, altough GBPVR
sees the tuner in its set up, I am struggling to get it toshow live TV.
I was tired and it was late, so will have another go later.

I cant seem to find a link to download Meedio (the open source one) and the original is no longer available

The Trial of Tvedia looks good too, only it wnt see the tuner.

again I will check out each tools relevent support/forums for more guidance

Thanks once again!

Kev

The OS version isn't developed yet. The original one doesn't have an official link however several people have saved it. From a search on the original Meedio forum:

http://members.chello.be/sf15418/MEEDIO.1.41.setup.exe
http://www.shadowscope.com/files/MEEDIO.1.41.setup.exe

Note that 1.41 was released as freeware, no keys or registration required.

There is a new forum on the MeediOS site which has sections for Meedio and MeediOS.

Setup files are corrupted, cannot install. The second link is broken.
