Some players already come region free, multiregion, from the box, these are normally found in supermarkets, but can be found elsewhere, e.g. online retailers. Others can be modified by using what they call a 'remote hack'. This involves the user punching in a series of codes via the remote. Then there are players that require a chip or software modifications. Would have more of an idea what's involved with your player if you posted the make and model number. You would also need a TV compatible with NTSC. Last edited by TommyW : 09-10-2006 at 10:59. |

Most, if not all DVD players and recorders from Richer Sounds are multiregion. If you are looking for a cheapo, then I bought an Alba from Argos at £18. Plays DVD+/- R/RW and is multi-region. Plays R1 films straight to a PAL only TV.
