DVD Player, VCR and TV-connection advice gratefully received!
My grey matter isn't up to doing the mental gymnastics required to solve this one so all advice would be very welcome.
We have a TV, Digibox and DVD player which work fine with one another. A DVD player has recently been added to the set up. When we wish to use it, I unplug the TV from the rest of the system and connect the DVD player. No big deal but for convenience sake it would be nice to integrate it with the rest of the kit. I suspect that the number of SCART sockets might be the limiting factor. I've listed them below. SCART Sockets TV 1 DVD player 1 Digibox 2 VCR 2 I've consulted a couple of books and done the usual 'Googling' but to no avail. Any suggestions ladies and gentlemen, please? Thanks in anticipation, up to here |

I think the easiest and most convenient way to connect here would be to use a scart switch box.
There are manual and auto switch boxes. Manual 4 way - RGB compatible Auto 4 way - RGB compatible If you decided to go this route, connection is easy. Just connect the scart from the switch box to your TV, then just plug your DVD, Digibox and VCR to the connections provided on the box. Last edited by TommyW : 09-10-2006 at 11:35. |

As the DVD has only one scart it would have to either be looped through VCR to Digibox or Digibox to VCR. Would need an RF modulator £40+. I would also think there would be complications when recording. |

Many thanks to you both!
I'll have a go at 'daisy chaining' the boxes on the basis that if no problems manifest themselves, I will invoke the 'working well leave it alone' clause. If not.............. I'll buy a SCART switch box. I have to confess that I didn't know such a thing existed. Thanks again, up to here. |
