Ok so who do we think the most "Vanilla" couple will be?
Obviously in terms of dance not the usual context!

Personally I'm gonna go with Erin - I know the Madame Whiplash thing suggests otherwise but I think that when you come right down to it we're gonna see same old same old. Plus last years little adventure outside the box for the final will probably have shaken a little confidence!

Even tho I've not forgiven her for sabotaging Colin's chances in the final last year. I think it is a bit unfair to say Erin will be "vanilla". Peter Scmeichel is clearly not as talented as Colin so I don't think they're going to heat up the dance floor in the way we saw Ray/Spoony/Mark do on Saturday. I get the feeling she will have to tailor her choregraphy to his abilities a bit like Darren Bennett had to do with Gloria Hunniford last year. On the plus side I am expecting great things of Camilla now that she is partnered with Ray. I thought she did a great Tango and Paso last year with James even tho he wasn't the greatest dancer in the world

Well as were commenting on who's not "Vanilla" I'd say Ola certainly won't be!

But James may be a differnt matter - Which must lead to an interesting homelife!

ok, i'm donning my safety helmet and preparing to hide from the backash, but personally I find Anton a bit samey. And with Jan being similar in age to Leslie & Esther I think we'll see some very similar stuff.

Anton's a dark horse - I think under the sauve exterior he's anything but "Vanilla"!

Anton and Jan are both very funny people and I'm really hoping that fun comes through in their dance rountines.

Not bad - takes a bit of effort to get decent results!

Hang on what the dinky toys has how Erin, Anton or any of them acted/did/made complete mess up off last year got to do with the performances this year.

Yes Jan Ravens has got the 'older' ladies friend, but let's be honest never in a million years would anyone suggest that Esther Rantsen should have been partnered with Brendan Cole, heck someone would have ended up dead, Brendan from a stiletto, or frustration at his partners skill or Esther from the workload or again a stilleto in the back.

They are professionals and as such are expected to adapt to a situation, maybe Erin will learn from last year, but heck I thought everyone agreed it is a lesson she should learn and never darken SCD with gimmicks ever again.

And yes Brendan will 'stretch' (to put it politely) Claire King, to the point where she requires therapy. He will have at least 3 hissy fits and threaten to walk out, only to be beaten to it by Claire at least twice. There will be a very public announcement of how united they are and at least one red top will claim when not practicing they ara at it like rabbits on viagra.

The other red tops and possibly a couple of other tabloids will claim that Ray and Camilla, Spoony and Ola, Louisa and Vincent, Georgina and James and maybe even Emma and Darren are 'more than just dance partners (nudge nudge, wink wink)'

IF that is what people want to call same old then so be it, but heck at least it has a purpose and looks so good on tv.

Hey I've said elsewhere SCD forum is a happy place, I enjoyed pointing out the obvious problems with some things NOT being 'vanilla'

The 'Vanilla couple' for me has got to be Tarby and Flavia.

I can't imagine Tarby doing the hot Latin thing, however gorgeous Flavia is!

Awww! I disagree (in the nicest way possible!). Remember Darrens SCD2 choreography? Some of the best we have ever seen in SCD-but will Emma be able to keep up with him?

Jan is in her early 40's (if that) Esther rantzen is 60 hardly the same age range. If i were Jan & someone suggested I was in the same age range as a 60 year old I may well resort to violence, Carol Smilie is about Jans age but is dancing with Matthew Cutler who I presume to be late 20's ish

erin or anton are vanilla darren and lillia are so vanill been there done that bye!!!!!

So completely agree about Darren & Lillia, darren all teeth with no sexuality at all #& Lilia playing the sexy semi naked nymph type - she seems a bit too coky now she has won previously as if she has a divine right to have praise from the judges.

Think Erin & Anton are more clssic thsan vanilla, don't forget they are the only ballroom specialists whcih is more restrictive than latin, when they dance they light up the screen &make it look effortless, I look forward to their exhibition dances far more than the others
