Think Erin & Anton are more clssic thsan vanilla, don't forget they are the only ballroom specialists whcih is more restrictive than latin, when they dance they light up the screen &make it look effortless, I look forward to their exhibition dances far more than the others”

Maybe. But, no doubt, they can also read, write and speak the Queen's English which seems sadly lacking in many these days.

That's a bit unnecessary. Anton and Erin are wonderful dancers - but even if you don't like them, Darren and Lillia are great too, so there's really no need for such personal comments (ie not insulting their dancing, but their appearance).

And that's fair enough. I like Anton a lot too - he's my favourite male pro - but the point I was trying to make (albeit badly) was that, IMO, on a forum like this (ie one where people get along ), it's probably better to make nice comments on the people you like than bad ones about the ones you don't.

Yes! I agree!
Better to not say anything at all if you have nothing nice to say (as my gran used to tell me)
If anyone wants to slag off routines etc thats fine! But making derogatory comments about appearance is just too much!

Err...in which sense of the word?

Generally, it means...well as Simon Cowell would say, 'safe' - not taking risks, using a routine/moves that you know look good and will get points, but not trying anything new/risky.

EDIT: Okay, how is it that every time I make one post, my post count goes up by about six? Very strange.

CALLING QUACKA....

It's no good talking to the daft old bat like this Quacka... YOU HAVE TO SHOUT AS LOUD AS THIS COZ LADY BOZ IS AS DEAF (and as daft) AS A POST

I'll be hiding in the pink room after she reads this so don't tell her where I am.

Hi Lady Boz, was just wondering about the Vanilla thing myself.

Have just ploughed my way through this thread and have the following observations.
make Love not War
Be polite about everyone it is a TV entertainment show, no one deserves to be insulted.
If Jan Ravens is in her early 40,s then that is a match for Anton then as so is he.
I guess Carol Smilie must be around that as well. It doesnt make a lot of difference really how old they are, they can turn into dancers at any age with the amount of time they have to practice in I imagine that in the past four weeks they have put in more hours practice than I can afford to put in in a year and they are paid to do it, lucky things!

elizabethjo, did a search on the net and it returned some strange connections to the word "vanilla" so thought better ask the question, so glad it meant sort of 'safe' The mind was at an absolute double wide eyed boggle

Oops!!! Tasi, wouldn't like to be in your shoes when Her Ladyship reads that Good job you've gone into hiding. Good choice, the pink room, no use trying to hide in the privvy, now that the doors been blown off.

Lady Boz - Everything you turned up regarding Vanilla is probably correct!

However the word Vanilla is being taken to the context of the dance floor in this thread!

I think Darren and Emma will be quite vanilla. I loved Jill and Darren but thought they had zero chemistry and I can see Emma and Darren being the same - lots of talent but no sexiness. Haven't really seen much of them yet, though so maybe it's not fair to judge.

Hee hee hee

From Wiki: VANILLA: commonly used to mean "plain" or "conventional," derived from the use of vanilla extract as the most popular flavoring for ice cream

It can also mean, safe, simple or standard.

Thess! Can mean a couple of other things too, a popular place in a certain town
