Someone doesn't have to do something in order to criticise it and say what they like. Film critics don't make films but they know what they like. Many of us don't dance but it doesn't mean we can't have our opinion on it.
In fact, this argument violates Ebert's Law: When you ask somebody to try their own hand at something before criticizing other's efforts, you have violated Ebert's Law and lost the argument. Roger Ebert is not a filmmaker, but he knows what he likes and doesn't, and has every right to say so. Similarly, people don't need to be chefs to recognize a good restaurant, or musicians to appreciate a symphony.
Westlife were just a bit embarrassing tonight - they can sing so why mime poorly instead?




Yes, I'd rahter have seen more of the dancers... more of Brendan... Bill on again.. but I don't think they were wholly bad
