Hi im thinking on purchasing one of these from Amazon for £79.99 at Christmas time.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Sans...&s=electronics

Is there anyone out there with one? What do you folks think?

Myself i feel it is worth £79.99 might even treat myself to the £99.99 e260 (It has 4GB memory)!!!

P.S Could you please check out some of the individual sellers ones that are cheaper than £79.99 and recommend me the ones which you would buy from personally...if any

Thanks, CoolboyA

I dont own one, but if i didnt already have an ipod, i might of got one of those. Iv heard they are good, (e.g. software interface+features), and they look pretty good too. Two bad points iv heard is the scroll wheel can get noisy, and fingerprints show up a lot on the case.

If i had to get a new music player, i would more than likely get that, on looks alone.

I believe this is the one with the scroll wheel? If it is then it is very good, computer active lately did a test with it, and said it was the best alternative to the ipod

Just bought a nearly new e260 (4GB) off Ebay. Have to say I am really impressed by it. My previous mp3 player was a 512M Creative Muvo which was good but didn't have any of the features of the Sansa. I particularly like being able to play an individual album or songs by an individual artist.

The colour screen is extremely clear and although I have only watched some short videos they were very impressive. Can't compare with an iPod as I don't have much experience of them and don't want to get into that whole pro iPod/anti Ipod debate.

Sound quality is very good (although not any better than my Creative which I really like). Menus etc seem very intuitive. Firmware can be upgraded easily using the Sandisk updater (available from their website). Battery life seems impressive (compared to existing player).

You can also add additional capacity via microSD cards. You can currently get 1GB cards for less than £20 and 2GB cards have just started to appear (c. £50). These will no doubt plummet in price in 6 months time.

I will shortly be purchasing the new Sansa Base Station which allows you to charge the unit, synchronise with a PC and play through your stereo via RCA plugs (also comes with neat remote control).

I love it, sure you will too.

Hope this helps.
