Please can someone tell me where it is. I went on topfield.co.uk (as per manual) clicked the download section and it says its moved to forums, but I can't find it there.

Am I correct that this will have Altair which I need to transfer files.

I also downloaded the latest firmware (not sure if I need it for a new machine) but how do I open a TFD file

Many thanks in advance

Utilities 2nd down on here

http://www.toppy.org.uk/downloads/windows.php

You use Altair to transfer TAPs from PC to Toppy but not to update Firmware for that you use TFDN-USB.

However If you bought a Toppy last night it should have 5.12.88 on it see Menu - Information - IRD Status -Software Version. Stay with that for now.

EDIT Some useful guides including one on how to upgrade firmware (.TFD files) and on loading TAPs on here.

You never need to open .TFD files.

Many thanks for that Richard.

I can see that this is a great product but only if you are happy to put the hours in (which I am). If it were left to the company itself and if it didn't have 'open software' and such support from fellow users I think it would be a dead brand by now. They don't make it easy and I wouldn't recomend it to someone who just wanted it as a 'plug in and go machine'.

I'm still happy, its a bit of a challange

Your right it does need some work setting up but once done I would say it was no more difficult to use than any other PVR and IMO a lot easier than at least one well known model (I dont mean the Humax ).
