Hi,

Forgive me for not searching but wondering about getting a Topfield for Xmas. Have Sky + and a DVD/HDD with Freeview so don't really need one but would like a Freeview recorder with the same functionality as the Sky + and the Toppy plus TAP's seems like the one (plus the Polar White edition would look nice next to my 360!!).

How easy is it getting component video from? Can it do progressive scan as I'd like to use it with my Relisys RLT3200 32" LCD TV and get a sharper/detailed picture as possible.

You can do what you wish with a Scart to component lead. I believe it's just a menu setting in the video options. I don't think it will give you progressive just 576i and it's then down to how good the deinterlacer on your TV is as it's always going to be a 'progressive' image displayed on a LCD.

TBH, I think you'd be better via RGB scart unless you're permanently hooked up to a receiver for your audio.
