So, if you did place a bet for one guy and one girl as potential winners of the show, who would you put your money on and why?

For me it's:

Peter - Surprised everybody on Saturday and gained a lot of support and affection. If he can continue to move that well he could be a dark horse. Also there's Erin's 4th, 3rd, 2nd pattern to take into consideration She's proved before to be a great teacher to even the most unlikely dancers.

Carol - She's generally well liked by the public, she's not seen as a favourite (which we all know can be a hinderance) and she was looking good on Saturday. She's also got probably the most talented partner. If her dancing is decent she could easily beat out the two female favourites.

For me its -

Peter - i think he could do a great job and has a fantastic teacher in Erin

Claire - because she ia fiery and a worker and Brendan will push her too achieve her full potential.

Spoony - he's got the moves, but Ray takes that favourite spot that can be so damaging. He's got heaps of talent and a young partner willing to go all out to make her name on the show.

Emma - she's got tons of fans even now, and Darren is an excellent teacher. I think the public will get behind them and think they're sweet.

Personally I wouldn't mind if Spoony won, but I'd really love Claire, Carol or Jan to win on the ladies side. They're my personal favourites so far.

Peter - He's worked really hard, and Erin will push him to continue doing so.
Emma - She has a lot of fans who will vote, and Darren will have his fans too, since he's already won once. Also, from what we saw in the mambo training, they look like they work well together and are having a lot of fun.

For the men Matt dawson (must admit he wanst up to much on Saturday!) - I think after that score Lilia will have kicked some training room butt and spiced up her routine. He is also very competitive and wants to win( dont they all tho! )
As for the girls -agree with everything Xadie and quackaquacka said about Emma and Darren but quite liking Claire too. A lot has been said about Carol Smiley - good extension but I think she seemed a bit character-less during the mambo if that makes sense?

Hi all - I've found my way back!

My pick of the men would be Ray and Camilla. I'm not sure about the girls yet - I want to wait until i've seen them dance on Saturday before I decide.

I am not a betting man, not through any moral or other principled point of view, I'm just c**p at it.

BUT If forced, at gunpoint, threatening my dog, I would have to go for Ray. He sparkled first night and Camilla is no slouch as far as a choreographer/instructor, so he SHOULD just get better.

Though popularity wise you have to say, Emma, Claire, Peter and Carol (maybe), though Jimmy will probably go furher than his ability deserves, IF he gets past next week.

For me...

Mark - attempting to put my huge crush on him to one side , he rather easy on the eye (god bless that white shirt ), seems to have massive potential dance well and a lovely endearing shyness that should go down well with the audience, if he progresses well he's my bet for the final.

Louise - just going by the Chris Parker factor - although hopefully she's a massively better dancer, the EE fanbase should see her get a fair way into the competition.

I agree about Mark
I have to say that I've bonded more with the men this year than the girls - whether that's because I haven't really seen them dance yet or what I don't know.
At the minute, I'd be happy to see any of the men progress (OK - Tarby excepted ).

So for me so far Mark = good/woohoo
Tarby = next out please.
Rest of chaps = fair enough
Girls = bland

Have to say, with magic prediction hat firmly on, that Mark and Carol would be my choices as neither are early 'favourites' with the bookies etc (which is never good) and so far we have seen Mark has the potential to 'grow', I would suspect Carol too will be able but not universally praised by the judes.

Mark and Karen I would say so far.

it's difficult 2 decide, cos nearly every1 is gd this yr!

But i'm backing Emma in particular but i also fink that mark and karen and Louisa and Vincent will do realli well!

For the guys, I'm torn. It's between Camilla and ray or Karen and Mark. It will take a ballroom dance from both of them before I get off the fence!

For the ladies, I didn't get much from the group dance last week. As much as I like the idea of Claire and Brendan, I do think that Carole and Mathew are in with a chance. She did have a lightness about her in the group dance. Again, I'll wait until Saturday to make my mind up for definite.

I do think Peter has massive potential. He's good but not so good that people will hate him for it. He's very endearing as well and just seems lovely.

With the girls, I will say Louisa. Hard to judge before the individual dances but just got a feeling she's gonna blow everyone away. Also, just to point out I cant actually stand her character on EE! :d

I think I'll just bet week to week! Based on what I saw this evening of the girls' rehearsing for tomorrow, my money will be on Claire and Brendan to win tomorrow night, but we must wait and see for the rest of the run.
If I had to pick a dark horse as an outsider, I'd pick Anton and Jan. I think she might surprise us all.
Sadly, because he's always got to the final in each series, I think Ian might be leaving in the early weeks.

I shall wait until after tonights programme when I've seen the girls before I decide. Of the boys, Peter, Spoony or Mark.

for the men ray, and camilla deserves a good shot this year!!

and claire! as she looks like she can dance as well as act! as is not a red hot fav like emma or louise! so gets my vote!

Emma, Claire and Louisa in the top 3 I think.

Mark, Ray and Spooney (unless Matt improves) for the men.

I have a funny feeling Emma is going to have a lot of competition from Louisa - the more Emma is the favourite the better Louisa will do as the underdog and youngster.

The hunkiest male to be able to dance reasonably well will get through but the girls are more popular this year and none of he men is a current winning sports star.
