Xbox problems with HD-ready TV
I have just bought a Goodmans GTVL27W23HD TV from Tesco. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work properly with my Xbox (original). The sound is fine but the picture is terrible - black and white with a sort of rainbow effect that bears no relation to what is on the screen.
I rang the Xbox helpline and they told me I needed an Xbox HD AV pack. I can't find this anywhere (apart from US websites). Is the TV faulty or is the original Xbox incompatible with HD ready LCD TVs without new cabling? Incidentally, my PS2 works fine with the TV as do all other components. |

sounds likea frequency 50/60Hz problem or a NTSC/PAL problem. The HD AV pack is for Xbox 360 I believe not Xbox1. Xbox was enabled for HD (480p) in the USA models only. It should still work via a normal scart/composite/s-video connection. Are you sure you are not trying to plug the composite connection into the component sockets or transmitting in rgb?
