muse - supergroup?

Some bands, mainly due to live performances, are labeled as supergroups, U2, Coldplay, chile peppers spring to mind.

Are Muse on the verge of this status? or do they have a bit still way to go.

I have seen all of the above bands live and they deserve their (IMO) "supergroup" status.

I have never seen Muse live, only seen the Absolution tour DVD, i was wondering if anyone had seen not only Muse live, but other bands that also have a reputation for playing amazing live sets and if so how do Muse compare.

and another Q, what are your top four all time best gigs you have ever been to?

cheers

1 U2, Cape Town, 1998
2 Robbie, Joburg, 2006
3 UB40 Durban, 1997
4 Jamoriqui, Joburg, 2005

worst was Michael Jackson in Joburg 1999, walked out half an hour from the end, very crap.

I thought "supergroup" referred specifically to a group that is made up of members of other big name bands. You could call the RHCP a supergroup because some of them have been in other successful groups from time to time, but Muse?

I don't think muse have that supergroup quality (that's not a bad thing!)

Muse's music is very 'in your face' heavy metal/classical music and perhaps too much for the masses to take in. Their music isn't simple. (Except for the song Starlight which is doing rather well!)

P.S. Best gig - Muse at the NEC Birmingham 2003
