I think The Unconventionals could have been given a better songchoice. Louis seems to have made his usual weird decisions with a few of the choices. Ray may get the Aww factor with the song Ben but its a boring choice. Ashley will need to be good with his song or he will be in for a barrage of criticism.

Agree - if they had to choose a Ritchie song - I always think Zoom was his best - think all choices safe and dull..still will be waiting to watch it though - just had singapore idol here - awful -like the worst karaoke night you can imagine times 10!

in my opinion they were absolutely dire. Nikita was a thousand times better.

I agree, great version by Pete Cox but for a completely different and stunningly beautiful take on the song, Justin Hayward's version is hard to beat.

Not as much as Shaun would have. Ray's too self-assured and comes across as too cocky to have the aaaww factor.

I think it's a lovely song but it needs vulnerabillity to perform it and Ray doesn't have that.

I agree, it takes a shy, sweet kid to pull off a song like 'Ben' and whatever else Ray may be he isn't shy....I imagine Ray will get away with it, but I think it's totally the wrong song for him to do.

Zoom was Fat Larrys Band, not Lionel Richie

Cue Elton John week where Ben returns Simon's favour...singing "Nikita" Oh, and expect "Ray Of Light" to crop up if a Madonna theme is selected.

. Not quite sure where "Old MacDonald" fits in though

Let's hope Kerry does a better job of that song than Brenna Gethers!(American Idol)

Brenna was terrible. I don't think Kerry will end up being that bad, not going by what we've seen of her so far!

Ben gave the vocal of the night and performed the song in his own way but I see what you mean about Justin Hayward's version. Sheer emotion and totally different. That guy could sing the wrapper of a can of beans and make it sound heartfelt.
