Its all about what happens after the show, american idol winners always make better albums and thats why they do so well.
Although Kelly clarkson became as sucesful as she has thanks to totally taking control of her sound and not letting herself be pushed into doing material that she didnt want to, i think leona probobly has the best chance of doing what she has. |

Of all the people we have seen on Xfactor/Pop Idol then Leona would be the only one who would give them any competition.

Leona is overrated. Every time we have seen her perform (her first audition, all through bootcamp etc) Simon has said after that she was off the melody. She's good, but I think she's someone who just likes to do the high notes all of the time. Her final performance for Simon at bootcamp was awful, in my opinion. She sung Mariah Carrey's 'Without You', and she sung it so low at the start that I was actually cringing when watching. I think Nikita is much, much better.

I dont really think we can really compare them as there voices are very different and there both good in different ways, but the only time both girls have been asked to sing the same song it was very obvious who was the best. 'without you' is a ridiculasly hard song to sing, it starts off so low those notes are pretty much out of every singers range |

Even Simon commented on how much stronger Leona was. |

Why compare? America is a large Country with a vast amount of talent in different ways and forms. We know our lot in this Country and I think they're as good as they can be, with room for improve over the next coming months.

Am I the only person that can't stand Kelly Clarkson?
I'd buy a Will Young single over hers any day....and I'm not a fan of his either.

No way. Atleast with AI people stood out..
Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Hicks and Carrie Underwood are amazing compared to the rubbish we have on The X Factor! I give this XF winner also a year before they fade away...Steve Brookstein...Shayne Ward..... |

I think some of the AI winners have been dire. The one thing about them is that the American public will support them no matter what they produce. People are 100 times more obsessed with the show over there than we are here with the X-Factor. The show`s audience displays tremendous loyalty to the winners - and even sometimes the runners up.
It would have to be a truly exceptional singer who could gain lasting success on our X-Factor. The type of singer who could succeed without appearing on it. The audience loyalty isn`t there beyond the first single and album IMHO. |

Kurt Nilsen (and I say this every year) was still, IMO, the best of the Idols (that I've heard). Two albums later and waiting for the third.
