Last night, I had the misfortune of hearing [and seeing] Amy Winehouse sing Beat It on The Charlotte Church Show.

Who actually gave this woman a record deal?

Ino it was awful, it was like a long peice of noise that sounded nothing like Beat it,

I wonder who chooses the end song. Charlotte sounded fine but 'Beat It' was definitely the wrong song for Amy Winehouse, she sounded dreadful, like her tongue was too big for her mouth.
I normally like her voice, she obviously needs to stick to bluesy soul music.

Apparently she'd hit the pop quite hard.

I saw her live in Bristol and i won't say she's not talented cos she is, but her talent is definately not in talking in between songs i'll put it that way.

That was really bad. She totally messed up. Amy Winehouse musn't be able to drinking alcopops.

Amy Winehouse is tremendous.

Her performance was hillarious.

So what if she was blind drunk, The Charlotte Church show its hardly the be all and end all of her career.

Who hasnt been drunk before? And its not like they dont pump them full of drink in the green room.

Like i've said before Ive seen her sing live TONS of times and she was amazing. Its not like she CANT SING its just she wasnt in a fit state too.

Maybe if she had never been heard live before and this was her first performance I could understand why people are slagging her off so much.

She had a little too much to drink.....so what?

Give the girl a break. Let thoes who are without sin cast the first stone.

I thought it was okay, but as I've never heard Amy sing before I can't comment on whether she was better (or worse) than normal. I do think Charlotte was the clearer of the two though!

Renes wife ( Allo Allo ) sings better.

It really is cringeworthy, isn't it? I wonder whether anything happened regarding Amy's fee for appearing on the show - surely she would've been booked as a musical guest, and she clearly failed (quite enormously) to deliver. They shouldn't give her a penny

The finest TV musical moment since Lynn "It's not plastic surgery, my lips are swollen" Perrie graced 'The Word'.

Vintage.

Agreed. It could have only been topped if they let her sing the full track herself.

I can see this clip gracing many 100 worst.... lists this new year

I still love Amy regardless and cant wait till I see her live on 16/11

Yeah I agree - this will make it on the 100 most cringeworthy moments in TV list!

It's priceless - but didn't Charlotte seem really professional, considering?

Church was almost as good as Winehouse was bad IMO. Surprisingly good, in fact...

But think of all the money they'll make from selling it onto the "Top TV Car Crashes" type shows? I would feel sorry for Amy, but this could turn her into an icon.

Sadly I think you may be right, but for all the wrong reasons. She has to ruin her health and become an alcoholic before she gets huge success. That's sad

Seems to be working for Doherty at the mo - mind you, he's got the whole Kate thing to raise his profile too.
