Anyone else think Ray has a very weak voice?
Now, I don't think Ray was the worst performancer tonight because the Macd brothers and the UC were worse. But the kid's voice did seem extremely weak. I could barely hear him and he seemed to be devoid of anything interesting.* How can he third favourite for the show with a voice like that, even with his Brookside following?
*This is being posted before the afro headed guy sings. |

That's a pretty bad song for anybody's voice, imho.
Apart from that doesn't a song about the love a boy has for his killer rat freak you out anyway? |

He wasnt bad, a bit off key at times, but has an ok voice. He still reminds me of Eddie Munster tho.

he never had the best voice even in auditions, I think he was only put through because he'll get the grannys vote for looking like an osmond and the brookie fans.
He was off key but in fairness to him it was a crap song he was given |

Didn't hear him in auditions, very poor tonight.
Likeability seems to be an acquired Cowell word for can't sing but people will vote for you for other reasons. Used it quite a bit for Chico! |

Whatever song they are given to sing, the key is changed to suit their voice, you cannot and shouldnt always blame the song.

I thought the start of the song was very quiet and off key...it then slowly got bhetter, but not that much better! I don't think he'll win and he has a dodgey 80s apperance (the hair and the clothes!) i think :S

He's actually very one-dimensional. The whole "swing" act was because it's the only thing he can mimic and because it gave him some cred.

Tonight was the first time I have heard Ray sing and given that he was third fav at the bookies and had been put forward as a talent, not a 'entertainer' like Chico, I thought he would have 'something'. Seen some threads suggesting a conpsiracy theory that he is an excellent singer and that he was delibarately held back in audtions to be a surprise tonight. However, he was easily one of the worst singers tonight and looks out of his depth. Nowhere near as bad as MacD brothers and UC and he was also probably better than that Ash and Ceri. Still third fav? Why. He looks fodder.

UNCANNY I really wanted to like him tonight - I've been rooting for him since his first audition, but he was very poor. Bad song for him too. Why did Simon not pick something up tempo? |

I'd like to know why Simon thinks he is 'likeable'???
He's a poor singer and he doesn't seem to have much of a personality. |

There were a lot of sound problems with that show. You could hardly hear Nikita above her backing singers and Robert too had some difficulties. Ray had the same sound drops.
Ray is head and shoulders above most of these finalists, he will be there in the final. He has great talent and star quality, something hopelessly bereft in the McDonalds and Unconventionals. |

Ah I thought he was given a very hard song to sing, and managed to do it well despite the nerves. It wasn't amazing, but he's a likable lad and he can and will improve as the show goes on
