'TV Legend Jimmy in hospital dash'
Endemoniada
15-10-2006
"COMIC Jimmy Tarbuck was rushed to hospital after a major heart scare, The People can reveal.

The 66-year-old telly legend was taken ill at his dentist's on Thursday.

Medics treated him for a mystery heart murmur - and immediately ordered him to cancel his spot on last night's Strictly Come Dancing."

Poor Jimmy.

I hope he is feeling better soon and doesn't need to pull out of the show.

Wonder who they have lined up as his standby?

I hope you recover soon, Jimmy.

Surely they couldn't replace him with a different celeb? It wouldn't be fair on those who have been knocked out so far.

I'm trying to remember, wasn't there someone who was sick in one of the previous series? Who missed a week and then came back the following week? There were lots of complaints. Who was that? For Jimmy this week it didn't really matter, because it was only the show dance.

I don't actually recall that ever happening. The only example I can think of relates to Zoe Ball being under the weather yet she managed to battle through and perform a Cha Cha with Ian Waite last year.

As for someone skipping a week I can only think of David Seaman from ITV's "Dancing on Ice" missing a week only to return the following week.

Hope Jimmy Tarbuck recovers soon. It would be a shame for him to leave under such unfortunate circumstances, just as American Country singer Sara Evans had to leave the US Dancing with the Stars.

You're right! That's why I can't remember who it was - they weren't even on this show. It was David Seaman. Silly me.

Maybe you are thinking about Dance Fever (Series 1). There was one week when a contestant had hurt his leg and was on crutches.

I wish Jimmy Tarbuck well and hope things are not so bad that he can't continue with SCD

If he has to pull out I wonder what will happen?

Or could it have been Rik Waller on Pop Idol a few years back?

They must have a standby celeb surely? It's still very early in the contest so it wouldn't be that unfair to bring someone else in to replace him.

I can't see anyone with heart problems coming back to the comp straight away - will be interesting to see what happens...

It was a bit over-optimistic of him to enter. As a contemporary of the Beatles, he must be in his 60s, and as events have proved, unfit. The training is too hard for someone like that, it's hard enough for a 17 year old!

I wish him well.

Nathan from Strictly Dance Fever season 1 couldn't dance one week, and they were going to give his partner Kristy one of the eliminated guys to dance with (Toby, I think his name was) if he didn't get better.

According to the Mica's out article on this site, he's back next week. Now, I admit that I'm not a doctor, but I wouldn't have thought it could be good for him to dance next week?
