I don't understand how Carole has snuck through unnoticed. She may be proficient, but has as much charisma as a plank of wood. she is gym mistress not dancing queen.
I am sure she's a jolly nice person, but she's not doing it for me. I hope my remarks don't offend. i don't want to be sent to the headmistress's study.

I thought she was great! She must have been nervous going first but she danced well!

their quickstep was fabulous! Very well choreographed and danced. Carol has annoyed me in the past but she came across really well last night.

I agree that she came across really well and the dance was delightful.

To be honest, I thought I wouldn't like her, but she did come across as lovely, and I thought the dance was well-performed and charming...

Carol did a good job, and further more I'm so happy Matt got through the first round. So all's well with me on that front

I've always admired Carol for her grit and determination, and I think that her nerves made her seem stiffer last night than she might otherwise have been. She took the judges' comments on board with delightful good grace and hopefully we'll see an improvement next week in that area.

I thought I'd hate her, but she did really well. I was very impressed with her dancing, and she seems to be working hard. Good luck to her.

I also wasn't a fan before SCD, but she had a great dance last night and her personality really shone through.

I like her - could be a bit of a dark horse - she is apparently a very proficient ice skater...

It's that determination and ambition that puts me off her. She may turn out to be a good dancer but I doubt I'll find anything interesting in watching her progress. As someone else said she seems to lack the charisma or personality to engage. But no dout that steely grit will see her through to the later stages ahead of more fun entertaining couples.

Ooh, is Carole going to be this year's Zoe? Once the rot sets in . . .

I thought she did admirably well and look forward to seeing how she develops.

She danced perfectly nicely thank you. She held her own and was actually dancing in her own right, rather than being pulled and pushed around the floor.

She'll stay in for a few more weeks yet.

I thought their dance routine was wonderful, and deserved more marks than it received.

Ha! just remembered what it was that Carole needs to sort out for next time - her arms!

She just kind of flings her arms up and hopes for the best. Her hands need work too.

I totally agree, much more so than the other Quicksteps, which were marked higher. Ofcourse it's always a pleasure to see Matthew dance.

Hang on this is Strictly Come DANCING, Carol's performance was far better than most and certainly better than the over marked Emma Bunton.

This is supposed to be about the dancing, NOT how bubbly or whatever the celebrities are.

Having seen all the couples now we can get an idea how good the all are and look forward to seeing improvements.

Fine have a go at Carol's 'plank of wood charisma' but do not condemn her performance, which was far better than average and try to convince everyone that she should not be in the competition or have been knocked out in week 2.

I quite agree, but unfortunately that is how it operates. Exactly why Christopher Parker lasted so long!

If they only allowed voting after they danced it might be better but they wouldn't make so much for charity.

Hi everyone!
I'd like to add to all this that I thought Matthew created a dance which had exactly the right level for Carol. Some professionals seem to have trouble realising that in this competition, less is more, because a difficult routine only makes the celebrities look bad if they can't do it, whereas an easier one they can master looks great! And he did really well there.

I really enjoyed the routine, the choreography was very good and changed with the speed of the music perfectly.

Carol's dancing was ok but nowhere near my favourite Emma.
