I was a little worried about how they'd cope with the live rounds but I thought they really pulled it off last night. They stepped up a gear and put themselves back in the competition. Good luck to them.

I love em and have done from the audition stages - Louis needed his head examined not putting them through, but he always plays safe, eh - Westlife singing Mandy - need I say more?

I love them. Was pretty neutral towards them from auditions but they were SO good last night!

I like their quirky quality but I am really afraid Louis will try bullying them into to bland boyband conformity. I think that is why he originally chose the more obvious boyband, Avenue who looked and sounded like they had been trained at the Louis Walsh boyband academy. I hope Antony stands up to him and remains wonderfully quirky!

Just adding my vote. Like miss granger, I didn't feel one way or the other about Eton Road before last night... actually I tend to be turned off by the groups, for some reason, esp boy bands and family groups (yes, I'm talking about you, Conways).

But they gave the outstanding performance last night. I was bowled over by Anthony and really angry about Cowell's repetitive "odd" comment. Is he trying to kill the poor lad's confidence? Hm I guess so.

Anthony's was the best vocal performance last night, by a mile. Clear, in tune, confident... different, not "odd". Long may they last in this competition.

I adore Eton Road, theirs was my favourite performance last night. They deserve to win... but they won't. Does anyone know if I can find the performance on youtube or somewhere?

Yeah Definetly...But louis keeps morphing every one of his bands into westlife...

Love this group and hope they continue to shine throughout the live rounds.
These are the only act that's awakened any interest in me since Will in Pop Idol 1

Anthony has a brilliant voice, but the other guys deserve credit too, as a group they really, really work.

I agree with you Marguerite. I've just seen them on the ru-run, I didn't get to see the show last night.

When Anthony started to sing I got goose bumps. I thought they gave an excellent performance.

Lovely manners too!

I thought they were great aswell. They work really well as a group and Anthony is beautiful, in voice as well as looks. I think I've become a bit obsessed.

Agree "odd" sounds like a negative thing. I understand what Simon was trying to say but why not use a word like "quirky" or "unique"?!?! Especially seeing as Anthony is a 17 year old boy and knowing teenage boys has probably spent years having class mates at school letting him know that he is "odd". Surely X Factor should be promoting and celebrating the fact that a 17 year old boy has guts to stand out and be different, not just conforming to what society see's as the norm??? Whats the difference between Simon labelling Anthony as "odd" and school kids across the nation picking on the kid who is different. Simon should think before he speaks. Rant over. Comming off my soap box.

The other guys are cute too. Funny how they look like an indie band but are really a vocal 'boyband'. Hopefully Louis won't mess them up by picking the wrong songs for them.

Exactly! You could see from Anthony's face that he felt crushed by Simon's comment. It broke my heart - Anthony should have been on top of the world, because it was his performance that really shone last night. I hope he reads this forum... he may be surprised by the extent of his popularity!

btw, let's not be too harsh on Cowell. His brain is addled by his crush on Leona

Wonder what they'll do next week. Rod Stewart doesn't strike me as something that will suit them but hey at least they have no choice but to make the song their own.

At least he had the spirit to turn it round and make a joke about the comment.

I'll bet he gets tons of fanmail - that'll boost his confidence. He strikes me as being very sensitive. He looked anorexic at bootcamp - Simon should know better than keep making remarks about his appearance.
